License tagging for Image:Alanknight.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Alanknight.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:04, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Please cite sources

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Southlake Carroll High School, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Please find and add a reliable citation to your recent edit so we can verify your work. Uncited information may be removed at any time. Thanks for your efforts, and happy editing! Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Samir (The Scope)

On this RFA, you left a comment saying "good Wikipedian, I just don't se why he needs adminship. Oh, and he's a Sens fan". If you look at his reply to question number 1 on that same page, you would realize the myriad uses he has for his administrative tools. Also, I don't see why the fact that "he's a Sens fan" should affect your judgement about him as a wikipedian, and whether he is trustworthy enough to become an admin.--May the Force be with you!  Thank you for supporting my Request for Adminship! I appreciate it and will do my best to maintain the faith you have shown in me! – Ben W Bell talk 07:21, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

ing images, see the following pages:

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Samir (The Scope)

Now you say that the comments were not there when you saw the page, but then he has added the replies since, and thus your rationale, is as you yourself admit incorrect. You also say that you would have supported; I hope you know that you can still change your vote to support. --May the Force be with you! Shreshth91(review me!) 08:38, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Oh, thanks, didn't expect that when I created it. :) – Elisson Talk 11:38, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Warning

Please do not upload images that are copyrighted. If you upload an image to Wikipedia, you have to specify the source and the licensing. If you have no rights for these images, do not upload them. Thanks. ≈ jossi ≈ t@ 16:34, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

As for your request to clarify licensing, please see Wikipedia:Images#Obtaining_images. The principle is very simple: do not upload images whose licensing you are not familiar with. Only images released under the GNU or other free licensing schemes are allowed. There are some exceptions reated to fair use (for example the cover art of an album that could be used in an article about that album.). In all cases, when you upload an image, you must specify the source so that its licensing can be verified. ≈ jossi ≈ t@ 18:40, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Dear Minfo, thanks so much for your comments during my recent successful request for adminship. As I contributed quite a bit to articles, I did have to think quite a bit before deciding to try administration. Take care -- Samir धर्म 09:35, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.Yankees76 16:04, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Firstly, you reverted/added something that has already been reverted by more than one editor - a number of times. That's why you got the 'warning'. Secondly, to be included in the article, the player has had to have played, coached, refereed etc. in the NHL. Merely being drafted does not qualify for inclusion. Check the articles talk page where this issue has already been discussed. Yankees76 18:35, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Year-by-year stats for NASL articles

Thanks for your feedback on the updates. I was using the table I used for USISL teams. Take a look at the table below. I modified it from the one you are using that you sent me. It includes a bit more information. If you don't like it, I'll be happy to use the table you suggested. I like including the League column because a good number of teams either came from another league (NPSL, USA, even the old American Soccer League) or moved to another league (the MISL).

Year League W L T Pts Regular Season Playoffs
1967 NPSL 14 11 7 156 2nd, Western Division Did Not Qualify
1968 NASL 12 14 6 130 3rd, Gulf Division Did Not Qualify
1969 NASL 3 11 2 47 4th Did Not Qualify
1970 NASL 5 17 2 60 3rd, Northern Division Did Not Qualify
1971 NASL 6 13 5 86 4th, Southern Division Did Not Qualify
1972 NASL 7 4 3 69 1st, Southern Division Won Semifinal (Rochester)
Lost Championship (New York)
1973 NASL 7 7 5 82 2nd, Southern Division Did Not Qualify
1974 NASL 4 15 1 54 4th, Central Division Did Not Qualify
1975 NASL 13 9 115 1st, Central Division Won Quarterfinal (Los Angeles)
Lost Semifinal (Portland)
1976 NASL 5 19 58 5th, Pacific Conference, Western Division Did Not Qualify
1977 NASL 12 14 104 2nd, Atlantic Conference, Northern Division Lost Division Championship (Rochester)

One last thing... I know the NASL used the W-T-L format for their records, but the traditional format is W-L-T. I would suggest, if you keep your table, to either use the NASL's format, but label the column as W-L-T OR use the traditional W-L-T format and keep the column label as Record to avoid possible confusion.

Let me know what you think. DC 14:47, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Marine Life Wikiproject

I'm trying to jumpstart the Marine Life Wikiproject and was curious if you were still interested (since your name is on the list), and if so, could give it some attention, nominating articles/voting ect.

WP Football in America

Please visit Wikipedia:WikiProject/List of proposed projects if you want to be a part of WikiProject Football(soccer) in the USA and Canada. The page is still under construction. I.m still searching for a template. XYZ CrVo 02:42, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

This would imply that Central America is included in the scope even if it isn't. The name is still being debated because it either sounds awkward or is too long or the usage isn't right. The name can be adjusted later. XYZ CrVo 00:28, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
The page for WP Soccer and America User:XYZ CrVo/WikiProject Football (soccer) in the USA and Canada is up and running,

but still in its beginning stages. Please leave any comments on the talk page of the project. XYZ CrVo 02:59, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Just FYI: things aren't "licensed under fair use". They're copyrighted logos and we're not licensed to use them freely (as is required by Wikipedia). We do use unfree images when we really need to, and we can do this because such uses can be covered by the Fair Use doctrine of US law. Check out WP:FU.
