Speedy deletion of DNA - Daily News & Analysis

edit

A tag has been placed on DNA - Daily News & Analysis, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ironholds 20:53, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Loki Lauyefson

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Loki Lauyefson, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.comicbloc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28620. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:02, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Turan Information Agency

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Turan Information Agency, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. PamD (talk) 11:32, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

In reply to your comment on my talk page: It wasn't my "petition to delete" - someone else had added the "PROD" (PROposed Deletion) and had not had the courtesy to tell you, so I did! I know nothing at all about the agency, but thought you needed a chance to rescue it. You need to find external publications etc which refer to it.
While I'm here, can I point out that if you add something to a talk page, you should (a) start a new section unless it's a reply to something already there - the easiest way is to use the "New section" button at the top of the talk page, next to "Edit this page", and (b) sign your contribution by typing ~~~~ or by using the button on the editing bar (it's the one next to the button with the red circle). Both of these make it easier for people to see who's saying what about what. Thanks. PamD (talk) 20:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I didn't think this really met the criterion for Speedy Deletion as "spam", so discussed it with the deleter and have replaced it. BUT, you do need to add more information to the pages you create, as they will be proposed for deletion unless you include more content and references to other sources (not just the company or service's own website). It might be better to concentrate on producing one substantial article, rather than creating lots of small ones which may get deleted. You might like to look at some of the links above under the "Welcome" message, or Wikipedia:Your first article, to get some ideas. Good luck with your editing - it takes a while to learn the system, but it's worth it. PamD (talk) 07:14, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of The Allentown Morning Call

edit

A tag has been placed on The Allentown Morning Call requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. New articles, and signing articles

edit

Hallo, a couple of points about editing in Wikipedia.

1: Don't sign your name in articles; sign contributions to talk pages, but not articles. I've removed your sig from a couple just now.

2: When you're creating a new article, please try to follow the standards of Wikipedia - write in full sentences, use bold for the article name in the first sentence, and try to use correct and clear English. It's also useful to make links to existing articles, and to check very carefully first whether there's already an article on the topic you're writing about. I've tidied up your Hi-Fi Digimonster a bit, but your The Allentown Morning Call was not needed as there's already an article at The Morning Call about this newspaper. It's better to spend some time making one well-written article which will survive, rather than producing a number of little articles which other editors will propose for deletion.

It takes a while to get used to editing Wikipedia and following its rules, but please try! Good luck, PamD (talk) 22:27, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Turan Information Agency

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Turan Information Agency requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - Kevo327 (talk) 14:37, 9 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
