Yup, odd website, but it looks like they are giving attribution. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 10:40, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

Sven Rinman

Hi!

I made a section on this wiki for Sven Rinman, a Swedish reserve sailor who was nominated to the 1948 Summer Olympics but didn't participate in any events. The bot linked it to this wikidata: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q30106539 which is unfortunate as the Swedish wiki article is about an artist, not this sailor. The sailor is actually not listed at Swedish wikipedia at all, neither of the three (!) Sven Rinman listed at Swedish wikipedia is this guy. -- Lejman (talk) 06:30, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

@Lejman: The bot saw the same name and the same year of birth and assumed they were the same person. I've now moved it to a new item at Sven Rinman (Q112762850). Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 07:36, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! Yeah, made sense, I just didn't know how to fix it =) -- Lejman (talk) 07:51, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Eunice Foote

Okay, well yours is the only name I recognize on the Physics Project and I need help. If you are too busy, or not interested, I totally understand but am hoping that you can then give me a referral to someone who can help me. For Women in Red's year-long climate initiative, I decided to work on Eunice Foote. She seems pivotal and the article was in pretty bad shape. While I am good at history, research, and women's rights, physics is way above my pay grade. I have been working through the article section by section and all I have left to (re)write is the 21st century part. However, I shall start on it tomorrow. I am wondering if you could review the discussion about her scientific works in the next few days or so to ensure that there isn't anything that I have misconstrued? My goal is to take it to GA this month for Women in Green's initiative running in July and then possibly on to FA. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. SusunW (talk) 22:10, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

@SusunW: I can try to have a look, although I'm not sure when. Perhaps @Femke: might be better suited to help, though? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 12:50, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! Any help would be appreciated whether from you or Femke. SusunW (talk) 13:05, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
Normally I would have loved to help, but I'm unfortunately beset by brain fog from a COVID reinfection last month. Femke (talk) 16:03, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
Femke I sincerely hope that your recovery is quick. As I said, I am still trying to work through the rediscovery section. It's been slow going because I want to get it right, previous editors had used blogs and either directly copied text or inserted copied text without citation. It's also a case where her story was lost for over 100 years, so I was unsure if current writers were regurgitating other recent work on her or if it actually was part of the historic record. Basically, I have followed a path of meticulously confirming her biographical history with primary sources, while using modern scholarship to evaluate her discoveries. If you know of anyone else who might help, that would be fantastic. SusunW (talk) 17:24, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

Category:Political history of Austria-Hungary

Hi Mike, you've denied my G6 CSD request at Category:Political history of Austria-Hungary [20]. I'm not the most experienced CFD closer, but I have a few dozen closures under my belt. Per Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Administrator instructions § Manual implementation of the closure, merge discussion result in the merged category being deleted, unless Wikipedia:Category redirects that should be kept applies. I am not sure why you've made the determination that this one should turned into a redirect? Thanks. JBchrch talk 09:45, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

@JBchrch: Redirects are cheap. But as you prefer, it's now deleted. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 09:47, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
