License tagging for Image:Gary valenciano.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Gary valenciano.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --OrphanBot (talk) 18:07, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can you please source all of your edits concerning religious beliefs of politicians? If you fail to do so, your edits might be reverted. Thanks. --Angelo (talk) 15:25, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Origin usage in template:Infobox musical artist edit

Please see the field descriptions in template:Infobox musical artist for proper use of the "origin" and "born" parameters. Origin is NOT the same as born. Birth location is included in the born parameter. Also see WP:FLAG#Not for use in locations of birth and death for reasons that the flag icons are NOT to be used with birth location. --NrDg 17:05, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ireland edit

Hi. According to the Constitution of Ireland, the name of the state is (in English) "Ireland", and (in Irish) "Éire". Under the Republic of Ireland Act, the description of the state is the "Republic of Ireland". If you read the intro to the RoI article, the "name" section in that article, or any number of related articles, you would note confirmation of this. Your repeated changes to the template on the relavant page are therefore not appropriate. Please stop changing it. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 19:32, 23 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Approaching 3RR vio edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Republic of Ireland. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Government type edit

Hi, I saw you did lots of edits regarding countries government type. Could you please share the information source as otherwise it might be considered as vandalism. Thanks. Steelmate (talk) 04:52, 24 November 2007 (UTC) (moved by Larklight (talk) 09:57, 24 November 2007 (UTC))Reply

Notability of Vic Mercado edit

A tag has been placed on Vic Mercado requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. If the subject conforms to any of the guidelines at WP:Music, tag the article with{{hangon}} and add it in. That'll keep it from deletion. Pishogue (talk) 20:40, 24 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adding Religion to all of the Prime Minister's pages edit

Please stop doing this. The addition of religion in the Prime Minister's infobox is untidy, unverifiable for some of them, and also unnecessary. Religion has played an insignificant role in Australia's political history, unlike some countries, and so having their personal religion in the infobox is out of place. The other editor who claims to have consensus on religion in the infobox "per other world leaders" is mistaken, because no consensus has been taken for quite some time on the issue and WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is hardly a reason.

Thanks to you, I now have all 26 Prime Ministers of Australia watchlisted, and I am now prepared to revert you at every turn until you reply on a talk page with your solid reasoning rather than just blindly adding content, most of which is not cited. But please save me all the trouble and do this without re-adding the information without discussion and consensus. DEVS EX MACINA pray 23:28, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adding infoboxes for classical musicians edit

Please stop doing this. These infoboxes are inappropriate for opera singers and classical musicians. See the policy at WikiProject Musicians: "Infobox Musical artist is the standard template to be used on a non-classical musician's or musical ensemble's page" and at the Opera Project. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.Voceditenore (talk) 22:03, 12 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

DO NOT PUT INFOBOXES in all Classical Music singers!! I am sure you could read clearly when you edited the article! I have undo all infoboxes in classical music singers. This is start to annoy me! - Jay (talk) 01:28, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I see you have reverted the infobox on Dennis O'Neill again. Please don't do this. It's disruptive and it's a waste of everybody's time - especially yours! Thanks for your understanding. -- Kleinzach (talk) 12:17, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Queen (band) edit

Hi, I noticed some of your formatting edits to musical articles. Before making edits like this, it would be worth boning up on our manual of style and policies. Doing things like changing the flags, categories around etc does more harm than good and adds nothing to the article. Linking years adds nothing to the article either. If you would like something useful to do please let me know. Best wishes, --John (talk) 19:32, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

December 2007 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. You may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did to Kelly Clarkson, makes it harder to read. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Specifically see WP:MOSFLAG#Not for use in locations of birth and death. This also applies to the changes you made to Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Justin Guarini, Clay Aiken, and Diana DeGarmo.

Also,
Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you. Please use the edit summary so other people know why you are making the changes you are making. Aspects (talk) 02:58, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violation in Slapshock edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Slapshock, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Slapshock is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Slapshock, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Letting redirects work edit

Hi. Thanks for your work on the infoboxes of Canadian PM's. One thing, though: there is no need to turn redirects into piped links. For instance, there is no problem with [[Anglican]]; no need to change it to [[Angicanism|Anglican]]. There's no real harm in making such an edit, either, so far as I know, provided it is done in conjunction with some other editing (if done just for its own sake, the making of the edit burdens Wikipedia much more than the ongoing working of the redirect), but you could save yourself the trouble. Wikipedia has redirects for a reason; it is fine to just let them work.

Peel District School Board edit

If possible, when you have time, can you add elementary and middle schools that has their own articles, referring to the chart in Peel District School Board, to Template:PeelDistrictSchools please? And also add the template to those articles.. thanks. I just don't have time, plus my computer is way too slow for me to open a new window just to paste a template to each and every article. --staka (T) 03:39, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Mon Faustino edit

A tag has been placed on Mon Faustino requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. --Dynaflow babble 21:47, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Mickey gfss2007! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 6 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 935 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Proposed deletion of Danny Tan edit

The article Danny Tan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails to meet both GNG and WP:MUSBIO. The only reference is a dead link. The wayback machine shows a page with a single mention along with others within a first bracket.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Proposed deletion of Egay Gonzales edit

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
