Hello. I have proposed that this article you created be deleted. It's a fine essay, but I do not believe it is appropriate for the encyclopedia. If you object to this proposal, simply remove the "prod" tag from the beginning of the article (it's the part inside curly brackets). Thanks, and have a good day. Introduction to Wikipedia

Welcome...

Hello, MarkShay, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Your contributions Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index and University student retention appear to be more promotional than encyclopedic, at least in part. This is due in part to the methods used to cite web content. Note, for example, that external links should not be embedded into articles (see WP:EL); instead, the articles should include citations to external sources (which may include URLs, when available). Please review the above-listed materials for advice on contributing effectively to Wikipedia.

Again, welcome! Orlady (talk) 15:31, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Esrever (klaT) 21:53, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
