Welcome!

edit

Greetings Maria.Au20 and welcome to COM482 and to Wikipedia.

I think that K-Beauty is a good article to try and improve. Unlike many other examples, the article has a ton of text and lots of references and looks like it has been the subject of quite some work in the past. On the other hand, the article seems like it's not is such great shape and there are lots of ways to improve it. I look forwared to seeing you work on it over the next few weeks! —mako 14:05, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on your draft

edit

Greetings Maria.Au20! I've done a quick pass on User:Maria.Au20/K-Beauty. You seem to have improved the article quite significantly so that's great. I had a few pieces of feedback:

  • There are a bunch of little style things like periods in the wrong places, extra spaces, etc. I've fixed a few of those (you can look at the diff) but more changes like this would be good.
  • The opening paragraph has quite a lot of detail. You might want to look at WP:LEDE for some ideas of how to write a punchy intro lede.
  • There seems to be quite a bit over overlap between the Controversy section and the Beauty Standards and Ideals section. Maybe merge these section and remove redundant text?
  • In general, there seems to be a bit of repetition. Remember that the goal is to improve the article, not to add text to it. If you can improve the article by removing or merging redundant text, that can be an improvement!

Once you've done a final pass to clean up some of this stuff, please go ahead and move your changes over into the live version. I think with another pass, you'll be in really great shape! —mako 19:14, 4 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
