How shall I name it???
Hello Marcnut1996
I'm thinking of making a new article called "A15" in Newcastle, however, it can get confused with the New England Highway I wanted to rename that to A15, but it also has some Queensland info in it which is partially . Newcastle Link Road has a page but I want to add some info on the other roads too.
Also will the A6 (Sydney) be renumbered once the opens? Otherwise we'll be like Queensland.
Cheers, Thent1234 (talk) 09:37, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Thent1234: What's the rationale for creating an A15 Newcastle article? I am not sure if the non-Newcastle Link Road roads are notable enough, when they may be covered under Newcastle Link Road (though I understand it is not the same).
- And about A6, no one knows except the government.Marcnut1996 (talk) 11:39, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, Marcnut1996, I'll rename the Newcastle link Road to A15 (Newcastle)

Removal of controversial statements from Garth Hamilton
The statements were taken by screenshot by some users before being deleted. Unfortunately, it wasn't covered by the media. Proof — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stonksboi (talk • contribs) 07:28, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Stonksboi: Hamilton has clarified on his Facebook page that the image is fake. It is unlikely for a politician to delete a controversial post if he is trying to make a point, or has met enough criticism and flak to delete it. Besides these omages can be easily digitally manipulated. Therefore I believe the image is fake. Marcnut1996 (talk) 07:36, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
Most likely it was deleted for the latter reason. I don't know what motive there is for faking the image, let alone to a small relatively unknown politician. Do you have proof that it is fake other than taking Hamilton's word for it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stonksboi (talk • contribs) 07:43, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Overlinking
Hi, thanks for your contributions on suburbs of Sydney, etc. Generally we take a conservative view of linking. So "Sydney" is normally not linked, since it's a well-known city. Same for "Australia". You could dispense with "located" (redundant), and the comma after "Sydney". "Suburb" is not linked—WP is not a dictionary. Tony (talk) 03:16, 24 April 2021 (UTC)

Addition of Shadow Ministers and their Respective "Shadows" - Necessary?
Hi Marcnut1996,
Hope things are well with you.
I just updated the Shadow Ministry of Chris Minns' page by adding the announced shadow cabinet. I also added a third column which outlined the relevant ministers they are shadowing. I was just wondering if this was an okay addition or redundant? If not, I am currently having trouble trying to add the minister's respective parties especially when there are two ministers from both the Liberal Party and Nationals.
Please let me know your thoughts.
APNOneTwo (talk) 10:32, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- @APNOneTwo: Some shadow positions don't even have a corresponding government position. Given that this is not conventional across Wikipedia, I would say that showing what is shadowed is not needed. Marcnut1996 (talk) 10:49, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
Good point. I did find equivalents to the government positions particularly in the NSW context but if it is not conventional across Wikipedia then feel free to remove the column if I haven't done so already! APNOneTwo (talk) 11:33, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

Commons should only be limited to your own photos, or photos that are no longer copyrights. Images will be deleted even if you have credited to the owner or publisher. 2021 Nationals NSW Leadership Election Page
Hey there,
Hope you've been well! I haven't edited in so long.
I just created the 2021 National Party of Australia – NSW leadership election page in lieu of a similar style to the Liberal Party one that happened recently. If you do have time, check it out and make any adjustments as needed.

Admin-only moves at RM/TR
Hi Marcnut, just popping in to tell you your request at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests was incorrectly filed under "Administrator needed" when it could be performed by editors with non-admin page mover rights. There's a guide, Help:When to place technical requests in "Administrator needed", which is linked from the "Administrator needed" section of RM/TR and can help you determine if you need an admin for a move. Thanks for the request nonetheless, and have a good day! :) Vaticidalprophet 04:20, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

Ministerial pages
I am trying to understand why you have moved Minister for Active Transport (New South Wales) to Minister for Infrastructure, Cities and Active Transport and then scrambled it into the other portfolios of Infrastructure and Cities. Yes the current minister holds all three portfolios, but history clearly shows this is a temporary state of affairs. See for example Minister for the Public Service and Employee Relations, Aboriginal Affairs, and the Arts
Having spent my time and effort unscrambling Active Transport from Minister for Transport (New South Wales) I would appreciate you proposing and discussing the matter before moving. --Find bruce (talk) 05:27, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Find bruce: While you may be correct that this is a temporary state of affairs, I do not see any benefit in having 3 separate stub articles. Furthermore, my main motive for the moving was to remove the infrastructure and cities portfolios away from Minister for Planning (New South Wales) since those portfolios are not under the Department of Planning and Envrionment.
- Despite the above, I can accept having 3 separate stub articles, as long as they are separate from the planning minister article. Marcnut1996 (talk) 05:37, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
- The issue with merging the three is that you end up with dead re-directs, precisely the problem with lumping infrastructure into planning.
The other problem is that Active Transport is not part of the same department, but part of the transport cluster. Please undo the move of Active Transport. I am happy to help cleanup infrastructure. Haven't looked at the portfolio of cities so don't yet have a view. Find bruce (talk) 05:45, 29 March 2022 (UTC) - Sorry you're correct all 3 are part of the transport cluster --Find bruce (talk) 05:54, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
- The issue with merging the three is that you end up with dead re-directs, precisely the problem with lumping infrastructure into planning.
- @Find bruce: I have made changes to other ministerial portfolios within transport first, before I proceed de-merging the new page later today. It looks really clunky when listing out all 5 other ministerial portfolios (by separating infrastructure, cities and active transport). Something for your consideration if we actually have 3 stub articles. Marcnut1996 (talk) 05:57, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
- It is far clunkier to have to unscramble them again later. In terms of the other ministries, repeating "Minister for" is surpurfluous and could be covered by the portfolios of Infrastructure, Cities and Active Transport. Find bruce (talk) 06:09, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Find bruce: Done, created the other 2 stub articles. Marcnut1996 (talk) 06:25, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

LDP colour
Hi. The issue with this change is that it applies at a blanket level historically, so now we are showing the LDP as blue back in 2007. If the change sticks, we need a new template version. I'd be inclined to name it whatever they rename themselves (or intend to), frankly. Frickeg (talk) 08:05, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Frickeg: I agree with you, I did contemplate whether it is worth having a separate one for the blue-LDP. Chances are they may rename to the Liberty Democracy Party. Problem is that the name change won't happen till some time later (after the election), so I fear we have to wait till then to do so. Until then, we can only show as blue back in 2007 or show as yellow in 2022. Marcnut1996 (talk) 01:19, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, that sounds sensible. I guess we can live with the discrepancy until the name change goes through. Frickeg (talk) 01:19, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Frickeg: Continuing with this discussion, it appears LDP has gone back to using a bit of yellow as part of their branding. Given their relatively short span of the party using the dark blue, I have since changed the colour back to yellow (and also in Module:Political party/L). Capitalisation of "m" in Shadow Ministry of Peter Dutton
Hello, I've took notice of your edit regarding the page name for the shadow ministry of Peter Dutton. You have cited a talk page discussion at the Gillard ministry article about this particular issue, however I believe that only applies to governing ministries. If you take examples from other shadow ministry articles, like Shadow Ministry of Tony Abbott, Shadow Ministry of Bill Shorten and Shadow Ministry of Anthony Albanese, the "m" in ministry is capitalised. I have since reverted the change back to a capitalised M. I hope you take notice of this as well. Tofusaurus (talk) 12:42, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

Adding Kinetic_Group_logo.png to a wikipedia page
I have tried adding the following picture: File:Kinetic Group logo.png to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Route_902,_Victorian_Bus_Route&direction=next&oldid=1111904843 however it got removed due to copyright, since you uploaded it and own the copyright on wikipedia is it possible for you to give me the uploading rights or upload it on the Infobox bus line, operator logo on the wikipedia page i sent NotOrrio (talk) 02:48, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi @NotOrrio:, you must have been mistaken about how the copyright of logos work on Wikipedia. The company of the logo (in this case Kinetic) owns the copyrights of their logos, not me. I merely downloaded it from their website and uploaded it to Wikipedia as a copyrighted logo, which means its use must be limited to the Wikipedia article of the said company. Any additional usage of the logo is against the copyright license of the logo file.
It is therefore not conventional to include the logo of the bus company in every bus route article as the copyright of the logo does not allow so. Marcnut1996 (talk) 03:18, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
Copying licensed material requires attribution
Hi. I see in a recent addition to Petroleum in Australia you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 12:51, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
