 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:30, 24 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please explain your use of alternate accounts

edit

Generally, one does not tag team with one's self on the same article or draft. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:32, 24 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I do not see your usage to fall under any of the categories in WP:VALIDALT. Your comment on this matter is essential. Both accounts are created on the same day. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:42, 24 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Izno, please see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Indo12122/Archive--I guess they disclosed. Timtrent, there's something of an explanation on that SPI; Izno, that was satisfactory to you, if I understand your response correctly. There's plenty of overlap but I did not see where they abused multiple accounts in an edit dispute. Drmies (talk) 02:34, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Drmies I obviously didn't chase further, and usually we let people off in some degree for a first offense if they come clean. I agree with your assessment that I do not see any particular concern with respect to the other disclosed account.
Maniacdude, I would however suggest you pick one account and edit primarily from that one (and by primarily, I mean 90-95% of your edits - your excuse regarding your laptop is no longer likely to be valid). Especially, don't flip back and forth e.g. as you did at 16:00 UTC on 4 May. Izno (talk) 02:49, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, the question was whether there was an offense in the first place, but Timtrent questioned the very validity of the alt account. Maniacdude (and User:Zenithxxx), please heed Izno's advice. Drmies (talk) 02:52, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you DrmiesDrmies and @Izno. I should have checked 'what links here' but didn't think of it, mainly becuase the edits were tag teamed but not abusive, otherwise I would have found the relevant SPI. I agree that the accounts are used naively, but not deceptively. @Maniacdude and @Zenithxxx, I feel it important that you follow the advice, otherwise you might accidentally trigger a whole world of pain. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 06:25, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Is there any way I can create a new password? I’ve forgotten my zenith accounts password otherwise I’d use it on my mobile also Maniacdude (talk) 13:20, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you set an email on that account, you can use Special:PasswordReset. If you did not, you are SOL. An alternative might be to rename the two accounts, which is something else I suggested. Changing that name to Zenithxxx (alt) and changing this name to Zenithxxx. Izno (talk) 16:10, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Usually if I’m away from my laptop I’ll edit on this account, the issue is I can’t remember my Zenith password so I can’t log onto it on my mobile Maniacdude (talk) 13:18, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
