January 2014 edit

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Ian Simpson (architect) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Ian Simpson (architect) edit

Hi Mancunian Matters! In response to your query, there are several important things to avoid on Wikipedia, one of them is copyright violations i.e. copypasting copyrighted text word-for-word or only slightly altered. You'll need to write your contrbutions in your own words (and indicate what the source of the information was, as you are generally doing).

You'll also need to avoid being over promotional - many lengthy quotes from Simpson could easily be seen as promotional, we're more interested in what other people have said about him.

It is also nhelpful if you stick closely to the subject, which is Ian Simpson the person. Long tracts about the ins-and-outs of his architecture company, or about Manchester Town Hall etc. are likely to be removed. Hope that helps! Sionk (talk) 02:28, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
