Tagging of Kaveh Boulevard

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Kaveh Boulevard. I do not think that Kaveh Boulevard fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because "Unremarkable place" is not a valid speedy deletion reason. I request that you consider not re-tagging Kaveh Boulevard for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES ^(talk) 11:54, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Please understand that the Speedy deletion criteria are intentionally narrow and specific. Only for pages fitting one or more of these narrow reasons is there consensus to delete withotu discussion. In all other cases some discussion or chance for discussion must be provided. If you think that Kaveh Boulevard should be deleted (and perhaps it should) then I urge you to start a discussion at Articles for Deletion and see what other editors think about the matter. Dear @DESiegel:. I did what you said. Thanks for your guide. But there is a reason named Custom rationale using {{db}} template to write a reason, not found in the list. IMO, that should not be there, and no such tag should be accepted for deletion unless it would have qualified for one of the more specific reasons. I plan to nominate that tempalte for deletion. Thanks for your reply. DES ^(talk) 14:42, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Dear @DESiegel:. I started the discussion at AfD and watched an unbelievable reaction from enwiki users (compared to fawiki users)! Article has no reliable reference (and really no reference in the article) and does not meet the criteria at WP:GEOROAD. But users are keen to keep it, relying on a user who voted to keep! I cant understand the decisions and behaviors at enwiki. Can you explain it for me, if possible? Thanks. Mahdy Saffar (talk) 13:23, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

AfD is sometimes quite puzzling. Articles about major roads, as long as there is any reliable evidenc that they exist, are usually kept. So are articels about secondary schools. I don't always agree with either view, but it seems to be the usual outcome. Note that the nusual standard at AfD is that if refernces can be shown to exist, the article will be kept even if they have no yet been added to the article. In tha AfD two non-english reference souces were listed by a keep voter. That will often be enough on a non-controversial topic, where thre is no issue of promotion or of nationalism or other controversy. DES ^(talk) 16:51, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
