Speedy deletion nomination of User:Mad Dog Coffee edit

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Mad Dog Coffee, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 94rain Talk 05:58, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion edit

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because we have a wide range of information that we would like to supply Wikipedia with, this was an an initial upload to create a page so that our team would then be able to work on the page giving all the vital information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mad Dog Coffee (talkcontribs)

You may not, for any reason, use Wikipedia to promote or advertise your company. This is explicitly against Wikipedia policy, and persons who do so can be blocked from editing.
A company is not entitled to have a Wikipedia article just because it exists. A company must meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable company in order to be considered worthy of inclusion. This means the company must have already received significant coverage in multiple reliable sources that are independent of the company. We have no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself.
Your account name represents your company, which is a violation of Wikipedia's username policy and another reason for this account to be blocked from editing. Account names must represent individuals, not companies, organizations or groups of people. Accounts must never be shared amongst multiple people, either. The person who creates it must be the sole person who logs into it for life.
Your content was written on your userpage, which is meant as a page for a small amount of personal information about the individual editor operating this account. While a great deal of freedom is given to personalize one's userpage, it may not contain promotional messages, lengthy autobiographies, CV/resumé-like content, or excessive amounts of content unrelated to Wikipedia.
In short, this account will almost certainly be blocked for the username violation and/or use for promotional purposes. If your only interest here is to write about your own company, then it is unlikely it will be unblocked. On the other hand, if you would like to become a general contributor, editing topic areas unrelated to your conflict of interest, then you may submit an unblock request with a proposed new username. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 06:19, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

February 2022 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website - I have blocked this account. Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a change of username of your current account here. The new username must represent only yourself as an individual and comply with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Beeblebrox (talk) 07:58, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
