DYK for Open Verdict
editInvitation
editI couldn't find him, so I've done a brief article which could probably do with your inimitable touch. Cheers. Johnlp (talk) 23:49, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Christian Bale
editThe article has now been protected and hopefully a mediation cabal should be getting involved in the frequent debate over what Christian Bale should be listed as in the lead line. Please air your views on the talk page. Thanks White43 (talk) 11:32, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
You probably happened upon the above article almost by chance with your modest, but appreciated edit. On inspection, I discover you have a passion for cricket - easily, incomparably, the best sport in the world ever (no POV from me, of course). However, if you have any interest at all, the present Marmalade article is strewn with fancurft, hear'say and other unsourced bollocks. I fancy trying to improve this, but need an ally or two, to make it work. It is probably outside of your usual remit, and I will not take any offence at all if you decline to lend a hand. Just a thought. Best wishes from a truly pathetic opening batsman, hopeless wicketkeeper (dropped everything - including my cup of tea) and extremely minor league all-time loser. And that's when I was at my best ! Regards,
Those Hollioakes
editIf you still write about (or care about) Adam Hollioake or Ben Hollioake could you take a look at a question I've asked on each discussion page on those articles regarding the logic of where they went to school . Assuming, of course you know anything about them or have access to books that do.-Sticks66 13:10, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Evelyn (G) Martin
editI suspect Evelyn martin cricketer and E. G. Martin to be one and the same. If you agree, should the pages be combined? Chardin (talk) 11:55, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Samuel Jagger
editDon't know if you saw the recent comment on his talkpage, it does appear that delightful fact was too good to be true. [1] --Jpeeling (talk) 18:50, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
E G Martin
editThanks for your good work on E G Martin. I can't remember from where I got his birth date. The information for the sailing came from # Jolie Brise - Robin Bryer, Secker & Warburg 1982 ISBN 978-0436071812 I am only a dabbler (probably a source of some annoyance) on Wikipedia so am grateful for your assistance. I have more info on EGM's sailing which I will get round to adding in due course. I hope that I haven't left this message in the wrong place! Chardin (talk) 12:36, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Bob Ferguson (baseball) Spoken article
editCheck the talk page for the referenced article, I read the article and posted a link to the file. There are a couple of notes there, also.

- Thanks for the heads up. You may be interested to know that if you go to this editor's talk page(Neonblak) and click the new messages bar, it leaves a message on your talk page. I'm wondering if it was recycled code that wasn't thoroughly recycled.
- Note - I think I fixed on that editor's page Vulture19 (talk) 20:11, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry about that!
Thanks
editThanks for letting me know. I'm still learning about Wikipedia and appreciate your input. Thanks again. Bonzostar (talk) 20:48, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Inter-twining
editHi. There was already an R H Twining article (not as good as yours) under Dick Twining. Johnlp (talk) 00:09, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- I think you're right about the name, and yours is the better article by some distance. Wisden always referred to him rather formally as R H Twining. Johnlp (talk) 00:24, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Indian Cricket
editThey didn't mention anything in Hindu or Sportstar, as far as I know, and I am fairly regular reader of both. It just stopped without mentioning any reason. I have a friend who works in the sports desk of Hindu and he says (quoting their sports editor) that there are no plans of reviving it, and the reason appears to be that it wasn't selling too many copies. (The argument against this is that Indian Cricket *never* sold too many copies but Hindu retained it as a tradition). Tintin 17:38, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
partial dates
editIs it true that partial dates is not much of a problem with cricketer bios? -J JMesserly (talk) 16:51, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
