Help Me, Please?

edit

I am currently making a table on my sandbox, which is copied and pasted below, for an article, but I can't for the life of me align the text in the whole table? I would prefer the text to be aligned central for presentational looks.

The first two rows are done for you. This is the only way I know how to do it. Joys! – [|Paine Ellsworth]] CLIMAX! 00:42, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the help Paine. I will do the rest in the morning. Probably going to be more tidious than getting the data together! Haha. Thanks again, Paine. - Limbsaw - (talk) 01:54, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's a pleasure! And this is a small table, so it will be just a bit of a copy/paste job. Then if you have additional rows to enter, just build an empty "template row" first that includes the align="center" param. Joys! – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 02:09, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Help...

edit
Please can someone help me code a table the whole width of the browser? The tables automatically size to fit text, but I want them to automatically fit the browser please? The tables are in my sandbox. Thanks, Limbsaw 18:57, 17 May 2014 (UTC)
You can add parameters for the entire table at the very beginning. In this case adding width="100%" style="text-align: center;" widened the table and also set the text alignment for all cells at once. Note that since three columns came with fixed widths, the extra width was poured into the remaining one. You can also set relative widths for the columns. See here for full details on tables. Sorry, apparently I changed the wrong table's width. Anyway, here is what I did to the table above. I'll remove the width again but leave the alignment in place. Huon (talk) 19:19, 17 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much. This will help with a lot of edits in the future. I can now go back old tables that I have created and make them more clear. But can I also ask another question, in said tables, how do I align the text to central? Thanks again, Limbsaw 19:36, 17 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Beginning the table with {|class="wikitable" style="text-align: center;" will do just that. However, that's an all-or-nothing approach; unfortunately it's impossible to set the alignment only for specific columns. Huon (talk) 19:40, 17 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
No don't worry, that is what I want. Thanks again for the help! Limbsaw 19:42, 17 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
