Hi,

I have seen the message you left on my talk page. I would just like to confirm, is it okay for me to edit your draft article?

Rayna Jaymes (talk) 16:12, 7 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi! I'm responding to the help request you left at User talk:Rayna James. First of all, I've put a belated welcome at the top of your page. It contains links to our policies and guidelines, and so I am sorry no one apparently thought to give you one before. Regarding your draft article, the problem is that we require third-party published references to establish notability; except for obvious things (heads of state, geographic features and populated places, Nobel Prize winners, Olympic medallists ... ), our basic way of determining something or someone worthy of an article is extensive coverage in independent reliable sources. There's a summary with links further defining the terms here; you should pay especial attention to the reliable sources explanation. Basically, you need to find at least two newspaper/magazine articles or substantial treatments in video media that are not based on company press releases; or a large number of less extensive mentions. There are specific alternative criteria for businesses and organizations here, and from what you say about the company revolutionizing ship to shore communications that might be equally possible, but again you would need some independent sourcing to establish it. Does that make things clearer? "Notable" as we use the term refers entirely to whether something meets our criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia; it does not mean "important" or "interesting". I'm afraid the jargon takes some getting used to.
By the way, sign on talk pages by typing 4 tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the squiggle or pencil icon that should appear above the input window; this makes a signature with your user name and a link to this page, making it easier for people to respond. If you wish, you can customize your signature so that your actual name appears: instructions here. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:11, 7 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Wireless Maritime Services

edit

Hello, Latency24. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Wireless Maritime Services".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Wireless Maritime Services}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 21:23, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
