When you post a pic to illustrate an article, you have to make sure that it's fairuse (meaning not copyrighted). Also, pictures for artisles with only one picture should go on the top right, so that the article text flows to the top. See Wikipedia:Picture tutorial and Wikipedia:Image use policy for more info.

Also, be sure to site sources and tag the image with an appropriate image tag. Thanks! --b. Touch 02:02, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)

IMO it is a obvious ommission on Wikipedia to have articles on each of the white girls listed as examples in Missing white woman syndrome but no article on the counter example. It looks like we Wikipedians are just as guilty as the news media for ignoring minority crime. From your edits to Missing white woman syndrome, you clearly have knowledge of and interest in the LaToyia Figueroa case. Restoring O'Reilly edit

I understand detesting Bill O'Reilly, but you didn't supply any reason for restoring his wiki entry back to it's previous, ridiculously chaotic state.

If you feel the new version isn't as extensive regarding his lying, remember: this is an encylopedia, not a blog; it shouldn't be used to track each and every beef you might have with an individual. MAJOR controversies have their place, but whatever little facts and statistics the man made up that week should be left to Media Matters and other watchdogs.

Now the clean-up it underwent last week was major, but it purged almost all of the non-encyclopedic content. If you feel something vital is now missing, by all means make the necessary additions. But the condition it was in before was just silly, so missing content needs to be rewritten.

Again, please don't vent your frustrations with a subject via wikipedia. The articles are for general overviews and major news items.

Vandals edit

In all honesty, I maintain a "zero politics" policy while I'm here at Wikipedia (and make sure that nobody knows my politics in real life). I try to understand that all people have their political positions, but that never gives them the right to vandalize our hard work. For example, if you take a look at the block log, you'll notice that I blocked two users in a row: one for defacing George W Bush, another for Bill Clinton. :) – ClockworkSoul 17:59, 21 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Image Tagging Image:Pastor Troy.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Pastor Troy.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Pak21 15:19, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks for your note; what do you think the status of Image:Pastor Troy.JPG is? If you can claim fair use for it, you need to tag it appropriately. If it's not, you should probably tag it as a CSD so it can be removed. (If you don't do anything, it will become a CSD on 7 December and be deleted very soon after that). Cheers --Pak21 09:17, 30 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
  • I note you've now tagged the image as {{fairuse}}, but you haven't provided a rationale for its use (as requested by the template); without this, it's still liable to be deleted. See Fair use rationale for more details. Cheers! --Pak21 11:51, 1 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

3RR edit

Please see the valid information on the three revert rule. You reverted The Game (rapper) four times in 59 minutes, none of which for "simple vandalism." Instead of lame edit wars, why not explain your rationale in the relevant talk page? that way, a compromise could be worked out. jfg284 you were saying? 17:56, 5 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

...I don't understand. It seems you have a problem with mostwanted05 (and that could be due to his edits on the other pages mentioned in your recent talk post), but I still have trouble understanding what it is that's a problem about stop snitchin' stop lyin'. its a new dvd by the game, and from what ive read its MORE than just a shot at 50 cent / g unit / whoever else, its also just a dvd. there should be a small entry on it in the article. Also, you brought it to the talk page, two users said the supported its inclusion and one user (you) said they did not. then you took it out again. that's hardly a consensus. Now, honestly, i dont have any personal attachment to the article. im not a fan of rap, my interest extends to a select few artists like common and the roots, and i think i stumbled into the game article through a vandalism i caught on recent changes, but now i'm wondering what your justification is for doing this. Also, if you can't smooth things over with mostwanted, think about taking it to requests for arbitration.jfg284 you were saying? 17:41, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
  • Don't worry I'm about to file a RFC against Mostwanted05 for use of sockpuppets to promote his POV views anyday now. There should be a sentence on the stop snitching DVD, but that is just a mixtape and it's really no big deal. I agree with you reverting his ways. MostWanted05 - Different IPs edit

Reply: You can report the IPs at Wikipedia:Administrator_intervention_against_vandalism with your reason. An administrator will then assess the situation and block the IPs. If he/she has a dynamic IP (i.e. one that changes regularly) they you just have to report them each time. An example of an offender with multiple IPs and user accounts is Willy on wheels, who is notorious for his sock-puppets.

Protection edit

If you want to request a page to be protected, you need to go to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection (WP:RFP). Putting the template on a page doesn't actually cause the protection, that's just a notice to let people know AFTER its protection. I'm not sure if the vandalism is bad enough to warrant a protection. It's not actually vandalism, it's more of a difference in opinion. I hope my information on protection was enlightening - Stoph 00:21, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Request for edit summary edit

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 13% for major edits and 11% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 79 minor edits outside the Wikipedia, User, Image, and all Talk namespaces.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear inpolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 04:18, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

She said she's still with A&M/Interscope, but has not ruled out signing with G-Unit if Fiddy offers enough cash. And about Remy, she might or might not sign, I have no idea. BWS/G-Unit edit

It's complicated with BWS, but here is as much as anyone knows.

  • Nu Jerzey Devil
  • Charlie Baltimore
  • Ya Boy
  • DJ Skee

As for the rest of them

  • Cyssero- Techincally I'm pretty sure he was never officaly signed, but he did agree in principal to work with BWS. Still a big question mark, but he said he was still cool with Game.
  • Techinic- Left
  • Eastwood- Left
  • Young Life- Left Big Fase's label and is hanging around with Game. Nothing is offical though.

G-Unit- 50, Banks, Bucks, Yayo, Olivia, Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Ma$e, Spider Loc. Lil' Jon's label as a joint venture with G-Unit records (hence Lil' Scrappy's name on the G-Unit Records article).

Hope that helped. Peace.

License tagging for Image:THEGAME.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:THEGAME.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:11, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Speedy deletion edit

I noticed that you tagged the page User talk:MostWanted05 for speedy deletion with the reason "User talk is being deleted also due to the behavior of MostWanted05. Earlier nomination. Posted by LILVOKA". However, "User talk is being deleted also due to the behavior of MostWanted05. Earlier nomination. Posted by LILVOKA" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use WP:MFD if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Image copyright problem with Image:G-Unit.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:G-Unit.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jkelly 23:18, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

What would be the best image tag for edit

File:G-Unit.JPG

Is there any appropriate tag for the image I uploaded back in October. It is an established image for many other websites and I had obtained it from G-UnitWorld (website). If there's anything else I could do for this image? Thanks. LILVOKA 22:23, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I couldn't tell you the best tag without knowing the real source and copyright holder for the image. --Carnildo 18:28, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

The 50 Cent/politics article edit

You keep on saying that I'm using weasel words yet you never articulate what those words are. You also keep giving me crap about presenting sources yet I provide 3 credible and independent links to back the text. Thirdly, there is a immense precedent for citing the political views of non-politicians and even musicians/rappers. I placed it in the "controversy" section because it is obviously controversial. Your argument just doesn't hold water. As I've said before...the only reason that you keep deleting it is because you hate Bush and you CHOOSE to be denial about 50 Cent's comments. --Rambone (Talk) 18:34, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • I made a couple of very small fixes to your revision. It's nothing big---just touching up the grammar a bit. I didn't add bias to it or anything like that. I just thought I'd let you know. --Rambone (Talk) 23:25, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • I'm glad that we could finally come to a concensus on this. --Rambone (Talk) 03:00, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nomination as an Administator edit

Thanks a lot for the consideration. I was thinking that it would be a better idea to do this later on this month, so I can add more edits, study more on how to become/what it takes to be an Admin, etc. Thanks again. --Ted87 23:51, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

50 Cent edit

How does referring to 50 Cent simply as "50" constitute acting like a fansite? When writing a bio it's tiresome and unnecessary to repeatedly write a person's full name throughout their bio. Therefore, it's proper to just use their last name. You can see this in every properly written bio on this site and anywhere. But in the case of 50 Cent, you can't just refer to him as "Cent". But he is referred throughout legitimate press as "50" for the same reasons. Because it's cumbersome not only to write but to read "50 Cent, 50 Cent, 50 Cent, 50 Cent...". I think referring to him as 50 is proper in his case. - MrBlondNYC 10:30, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I didn't make or see the corrections made saying "50 said..." But I agree "Jackson" should be used instead. Thanks. -MrBlondNYC 22:48, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

G-Unit Records edit

Hey look, except for the new artists, I made numerous legitimate corrections to the article that you reverted, including proper spelling, sentence structure and glaring inaccuracies. Please read the whole article and I think you'll agree that everything I wrote was based on fact. Also, forgetting the other artists, my links for 40 Glocc were links to legitmate articles and not his MySpace page. - MrBlondNYC 22:48, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

"The rumors are spinning..." edit

All we can go by now are the artist pictured on the official website for G-Unit Records [2]. MOP, Spider Loc and Ma$e are pictured there. Ma$e is a free agent and will release one scheduled album with G-Unit and there is a link to his site on that site. Since the page is about G-Unit Records, not Interscope, I think the label's official site is a good source of determining who are the artist's on the label. How about you? Response to your Lieberman/Lamont post edit

  • Your questions are all over the place so I'll just give you my over-arching opinion about the whole thing... My opinion is that Lieberman will win the general election as an independent. I don't agree with him 90% of the time but I like him because he's a honest politician. (one of the few in America) As for Lamont, I see him as Howard Dean II. Sure, the left-wing loves him but when it gets closer to the election, centrist democrats and independents will vote for someone else. I have no idea what CNN will do though I have a strong feeling that they would LIKE to support Lamont. Personally, I can't stand anti-war candidates in this era because most of them don't want to use the military AT ALL. That being said, I'm not blindly pro-war, either. I want to use force when it's neccessary. I supported the reasons for the war in Iraq (and still do) but I'm totally pissed off about how Bush has waged the war. It's as if Bush wants to lose or pass the problem to the next president. Rambone (Talk) 02:28, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dayton Mall edit

Why did you change it?

Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music edit

Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. Recently, I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. I am now writing to usernames on the hiphopWP who might be interested in helping with the punkmusicWP. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk as has been done well with hip hop. Finally, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). Please check it out and voice your opinion. Xsxex 09:11, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Missing White Woman Syndrome edit

Please do not remove the Original Research tag without discussion on the talk page. Although the article cites many sources, it does not appear to be derived directly from them. At the least, parts of it need to be rewritten. Joseph N Hall 03:20, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Date edit

October 38 was a typo. It suppose to be the 28. If you want to remove the date compeltly then so be it, but I think the year of the incident should be kept. But that's just me. --Ted87 02:35, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Umm... edit

That was a serious question. I do expect an answer. Lmz00 00:48, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dayton Mall article: edit

Hello,

I go by the name of MidCenturyMod. I have been the one posting the "alternate" Dayton Mall article, here on Wikipedia. I regret that this has become something of a tug-of-war, of sorts, with my article replacing yours, yours then replacing mine.....I am hoping that we can come to some sort compromise here.

If this were an aricle that I had written about ything else, I oubt t

Edit disputes edit

To this point, it doesn't appear that things have escalated. You've kept a cool head. For edit war issues, take a look at Wikipedia:Resolving disputes.

I've left some specific warning messages and reverted some edits. I see no grounds for any additional actions. I will assume good faith on his part.

When a specific incident requiring administrator review (see page for what is applicable) arises, for quick attention, consider using the Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

This was the version me and Lmz00 created an edit war on edit

You wrote:

This was the version I worked on September 21, 2006. No vandalism, no weasel words, sourcing, and no copyright violations. This edit war with Lmz00 has gotten to a point where I refuse to answer to the user. The user cannont resolve this dispute without using inactive comments toward myself and others. It's just simplified just to compromise a fair look at the article without using too many links and notable likeness. And for the user to use 50 instead of 50 Cent, that just another way of saying a number said this instead of a rapper. Just look at the current version. The last time I edit this article was about at least a week ago. I asked for a protection to inactive users who choose not to compromise, and refuse to work as a community. I hope this version (I left above in the link) is used on this article.
This is the current version that User Lmz00 left after I ceased the edit war. And yes, this is what is on the article (and you can decide)!
Multiple use of name of Sean Combs. Here the list of words, Diddy, Puffy, P. Diddy, Combs, Sean "Puffy Combs is located throughout the whole article. All I suggested was to used was mogul or rapper, to cease the constant use of the person's name. (Inproper use of proper names)!
Mase still claimed the status of a pastor. The album contained no curse words and was not derogatory in any way towards females. (Weasel words)!
'50 was in talks with Diddy to buy Mase from Bad Boy in order to sign him to G-Unit. However, those talks fell through, prompting 50 to make a diss record towards Diddy titled "The Bomb" (which accuses him of stalling said negotiations). In addition, 50 also mentions no longer wanting to make a deal. (Inproper wording of proper names, weasel words, and not neutral in explaining feud with rappers)!
Mase's desire to leave Bad Boy is primarily due to his third album not selling so well. (This is an example of weasel words)!
This has been discredited however, by the wider hip-hop community. Mase has also been called a hypocrite by former G-Unit member, The Game, who called out the pastor (as well as other G-Unit members) on his anti-G-Unit DVD, Stop Snitchin', Stop Lyin'. (Another example of weasel words)!
Ok that it. Thanks. LILVOKA 15:46, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you'll look at the changes i made, you may well perceive that i have no interest in the topic of the Ma$e bio: i was there to fix the effect of the misunderstanding of how the piping of Cats works when the name is odd typographically. I'm sure the conflict you are involved in will come to some sort of reasonable conclusion without my intervention. I involve myself in dispute resolution but rarely, and only when i have some more substantial interest in and understanding of the matter involved. You would do better to enlist those who describe themselves as mediators, arbitrators, or other specific roles in the dispute-resolution process. Thanks for your interest in WP.
