Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Love Ishhq (2012 film)

edit

Hello Kephir. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Love Ishhq (2012 film) to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 11:51, 14 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm sure there is promotional intent and the claims of being a hit are exaggerated, and I'm not convinced this is anything more than an enthusiastic amateur, but I'm not quite happy with either "hoax" or "advert" speedies. So I have PRODded them both and explained NFILM - let's hope he gtes the message. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 12:01, 14 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
    • I somewhat doubt it, but I am not going to pursue WP:SD further. Take a look at that blog - it contains material clearly derived from the article about The Devil Wears Prada. I found it likely that this case is similar. Keφr (talk) 12:07, 14 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on User:Kephir/gadgets/rater

Sometimes the window pops up in front of information need to fill in the form. Having it movable (like twinkle popups) would solve this problem. Stuartyeates (talk) 06:24, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Done. Keφr (talk) 06:33, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Kudos on making editing easier for lazy me ;) benzband (talk) 20:04, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sometimes a banner on the page doesn't appear in the rater box, bu when i add a new one, it ends up with duplicates. benzband (talk) 20:04, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Talk:FM Static for a concrete example. benzband (talk) 20:06, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Should work better now. Keφr (talk) 20:21, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
It does! Thanks!   benzband (talk) 20:26, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
This is just a quick note to say that I've taken a copy of your User:Kephir/gadgets/rater and I'm working on what I hope are going to be improvements. I'm not working on your copy of the code because I don’t' want to break it for everyone else. It may take some time. Stuartyeates (talk) 09:46, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
See User:Stuartyeates/vector.js for where I'm putting it.
You got my blessing. I agree there is room for improvement, and the code definitely needs some refactoring, but frankly, I do not want to be maintaining this indefinitely, especially that I am going to have less free time in the near future. So I am quite happy with this. Keφr (talk) 10:00, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy Deletion of "Princeton University Edit-a-thon Three"

edit

Thanks for cleaning up the mess! Like your username, by the way. Undead q (talk) 18:45, 18 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome. Though I am not sure whether the current location of that page is the best one either. And it is quite short, if I may. Keφr (talk) 18:56, 18 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
I was trying to make it a Meetup subpage. It will be updated and fleshed out before the event on 19 October. Undead q (talk) 19:17, 18 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay then. I guess Wikipedia:/Meetup:Princeton University Edit-a-thon Three can go too - you can tag it yourself with {{db-r3}}, {{db-g6}} or {{db-g7}}. Cheers, Keφr (talk) 05:43, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yep, will do, thanks! Undead q (talk) 11:48, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion tag on W3LEAF

edit

Hi there, I edited the page to make it neutral. Could you please recheck and let me know if there are still issues with the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lv210408 (talkcontribs) 06:33, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I can see no difference. There are still headers with rhetorical questions under which the article boasts about the site's features. Either way, a site launched June this year has almost certainly not yet established any notability, either as a website or a company. To prove otherwise, you need references, and lots of them, and good ones at that. Keφr (talk) 06:53, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the reply. I edited it again. This article is not to boast w3leaf's features. Just to let the users know the importance of safe social networking and giving them a reference website. With a rank of 4 millions within 3 months, I would say it's at least notable if not very famous. If I put the advert tag, do we still need the db-spam tag?. Appreciate your response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lv210408 (talkcontribs) 07:22, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
And "letting the users know" is for the purpose of highlighting that website's features. Which is obvious. Articles are supposed to be mere descriptions of their subjects, so imperatives like "think again because…" or "don't let your children…" have no place in article space. The proper way to fix this is not to snap {{advert}} on the article and call it a day, it is to remove the advertising language. But after doing that, nothing remains, so it falls under WP:CSD#G11. This article will not stay here for long until someone (which should be you) brings some in-depth, third-party, reliable sources which actually talk about that website to base an article upon. End of story. And please use ~~~~ Keφr (talk) 07:47, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Page Curation newsletter

edit

Hey Kephir/archive/2012. I'm dropping you a note because you used to (or still do!) patrol new pages. This is just to let you know that we've deployed and developed Page Curation, which augments and supersedes Special:NewPages - there are a lot of interesting new features :). There's some help documentation here if you want to familiarise yourself with the system and start using it. If you find any bugs or have requests for new features, let us know here. Thanks!
