Disambiguation link notification for October 20 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Brazil, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page It's All True. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Non-free rationale for File:Dior and I poster.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Dior and I poster.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. File source problem with File:Glauber-rocha.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Glauber-rocha.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Orphaned non-free image File:JeanneDielman.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:JeanneDielman.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:40, 12 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Causes of the French Revolution edit

Dear Katastasi,

It looks you got into a little edit war in the Causes of the French Revolution lemma, about a picture of Voltaire.
I don't understand the motivations of the user "Swapnil gàd". It is probably a kind of vandalism.
If it isn't vandalism, then I would nevertheless have some sympathy for a viewpoint that Voltaire is not the most important Enlightenment philosopher that influenced the French Revolution (I can't read the mind of Swapnil gàd). Voltaire just happens to be the only philosopher most people would come up with.
The more important roles of Montesquieu, Rousseau, or Locke are not so much known (because there are less funny anecdotes about them, or because most of the popular history around the FR is simplified bogus).
Maybe we can find a peace by proposing Montesquieu, like in the FR Wikipedia?
Cheers Riyadi (talk) 14:13, 26 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hey Riyadi, seems like a good idea to me; the only reason I reverted Swapnil gàd is because he removed the image without any edit summary, and that seemed like vandalism to me (especially considering he hadn't made any edits outside of that), and that the lead had been removed earlier (although by an IP). I have no real involvement with the article's content, so if you think Montesquieu is a better representative of the Revolution than Voltaire, then that's okay to me. ;) Cheers, Katástasi (κατάσταση) 22:52, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Genre at Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends edit

Hi there, re: this edit, I don't see "comedy-drama" mentioned anywhere in the article or sourced. Am I missing something? Feel free to reply here. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:44, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Cyphoidbomb, yeah, I think I made some mistake, I think none of the sources specifically say "comedy-drama", thanks for noting. Some sources say "comedy" though. If you want, you can drop a review at the peer review I opened, I want some opinions on how to improve the article further. Thanks! Katástasi (κατάσταση) 21:38, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Sourced now, it's only comedy according to Metacritic. Katástasi (κατάσταση) 22:53, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Cool, thank you. I seem to recall that Metacritic should not be used for this, since I believe they use data taken from IMDb for the basic show information. I'll need to look for the source of that info, though, and in the interim I won't remove the content. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:13, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ah, found it. It's at the bottom of the page, "Movie title data, credits, and poster art provided by IMDb". I'll leave it up to you whether to find a different source or not. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:16, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
I'll be reworking certain parts of the article soon, and I'll look for a better source for genres. I put Metacritic only because it's used in other articles as well, but if I find something more specific I'll be replacing the ref then. Proposed deletion of Graham McCann edit

The article Graham McCann has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no real notability asserted. Writing two books which are not independently notable does not make the author notable, and an SPS is not a source for claim of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
