WikiProject Rugby League

Hi Jockosaurus. I've noticed you've made an edit or two under Cronulla Sharks, and I would like to extend an invitation for you to join WikiProject Rugby league if you'd like to. Basically what we do is organise rugby league articles in general, including standards for templates, styles and other entries, and in the future collaborating articles in order to get them to featured article status. There are no prerequisites for joining, and you don't even have to actively participate if you don't want to. But if you would like to join, just add your name to the list of participants and that's it. If you have any questions just let me know on my talk page. Local Government Areas of Queensland

Hi, saw your edit to the above article and wonder what was incorrect about the content you removed. There was in the 20s the large amalgamations of Councils to create the Brisbane City Council and in the 90s there were the amalgamations of Ipswich and Moreton, Gold Coast and Albert, Mackay and Pioneer, and Cairns and Mulgrave. In addition there has been the recent restructure of the Aboriginal councils to create Aboriginal Shire Councils such as Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council. Obviously at present there is a large restructure taking place. The phrase was included so the reader was aware that these periodic restructures take place and that Local Government Areas in Queensland do not have the same permanence as States or even towns. Australian Rugby Championship

I think your edit of Melbourne Rebels affiliations is debatable. I don't believe 'affiliations' implies the players came from those clubs. In fact, all the Rebels players were aligned with VRU teams. To draw a longish bow, I believe one could almost state the the Rebels where VERY closely affiliated with Melbourne University where they train, and the University Pillar Cup team.

I think in terms of accuracy it is correct to state that no Victorians were in the squad ( save Digby Ione) but the team represents the VRU and by association all Victorian clubs, not just Melbourne ones.

So I'd propose that the names of the VRU 1st Grade teams be reinstated in that table cell, along with your annotation that the players came from other Super teams. Thoughts?

Thanks for uploading Image:EastsRugby.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Your work on Wisden

You've done some good work on this. I put in the footnote about the years when people edited Wisden, because an editor might have taken the editorship in, say, July 1900 but the 1901 edition would then be the first to come out under his name. One minor point, there's no need for the clumsy [[Peter,_the_Lord's_cat|Peter, the Lord's Cat]] format. Internal Wiki links in square brackets work just fine with spaces rather than underscores, and that is the preferred form even though the actual HTML file referred to will have underscores.

By the way, I don't know if you're aware of the Cricket Wikiproject. You might wish to consider becoming a member. JH (talk page) 11:20, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized).
