Whipping boy

I just saw The Times Jan. 16, 2018 article about whipping boys. Another one of those ideas that is just too good to be true, I thought, Wikipedia needs to know about it. Then I saw your great work predating the Times. I suppose it would be no mystery of how you beat the Times if you told me the details - so please just let me keep my impression of you as a wonder worker. Good job. Refimprove template on 'Irish revolutionary period' article

Hiya. A silly question. Which you are entirely welcome to ignore. In short, do you have a strong opinion on what additional references might be required, before the hatnote you added here might be removed?

(I ask only as I'm on a bit of a 'refimprove' kick at the moment. Trying to address some of the refimprove/nofootnotes/norefs/morerefs style templates on some high-level Ireland-related articles. Many of which have been place for a decade or more. I came upon this template which you added in 2012. Given that you had created the article originally, I was wondering if you had a specific goal/expectation for what improvement might be required before it might be removed? There's been a small handful of refs added since. And I can likely bulk up with a few more. But wanted to check before I boldly pushed ahead....)

• I have no strong opinion. One might be lazy and cavalier and simply add any general history of the period as a reference, but of course it would be better to include page references for each assertion, fact checking as you go. It is of course unusual to add a {{refimprove}} to an article for which one has oneself been the only editor. This case was a refactoring: I copy-pasted the text of the then version of History of Ireland#Home Rule, Easter Rising and War of Independence (1912–1922), and that source text was unreferenced. jnestorius^(talk) 13:57, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello, Jnestorius. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
