Hi @Sinbabad:, generally speaking Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are not considered reliable sources as per WP:RS. However, there are exceptions to this rule. In the case of Mendez, the Facebook page reporting his death is the official page of a professional football club and thus it is considered acceptable.
