There's no such thing as "your article" and what is the other article you refer to with "both"? In any case, you are pasting in content which is unlinked and contains POV. Yeah, its the one in a million case that the bot has major problems with. Don't worry about that warning, it pretty obviously wasn't vandalism, its just that the bot can't tell if you're removing a copyvio or not, sorry about that -- Tawker 17:14, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Ross Davidson's birthplace

The obit printed in The Independent today confirms Ross was born in Uddingston. The IMDB relies on user-submissions like Wikipedia, so is not *entirely* reliable with it's information, despite how many media organisations seem to treat it as gospel.

The Herald and BBC pieces were just standard reports. The writers have probably gone with the information that's most prevalent (which seems to be Airdrie) because the important thing is to get the article out, not the minute details. For an official obituary though, the papers tend to go more in-depth, making sure they get their facts and figures straight. I've found The Independent's obits to be quite reliable in this respect, using exact names and places. I've used it several times to update things like IMDB pages which unless corrected tend to generalise places of birth to the nearest large(r) town/city.

If you feel adamant that the BBC and The Herald's brief reports are more worthy/reliable though, please feel free to change Ross' entry to read Airdrie. If he was born in Airdrie though, it makes it slightly puzzling why another media source would quote a smaller, more publically obscure location.
