Untitled section

edit

Hiya good to see your up and running, if it was not appropriate then it would be flagged I guess? In the long term maybe the article could be joined, but for the sake of assessment yeah? Are you going to upload from your sandbox, would like to place internal link before next week Have a good weekend Also will you write Water-wheel like this so I can link to your page when you put it up denise (talk) 13:41, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

If the above is a response to your note at Talk:Suzon Fuks, then you were quite right, it was not appropriate to copy that entire section from the Waterwheel website, and I have removed it. As for the form of their name: "Waterwheel" is what is used on its own site and it would be incorrect to use another form. If an article was to be created, then something like Waterwheel (website) would be the correct title. Welcome to Wikipedia and Happy Editing! PamD 10:13, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you do create an article on Waterwheel, then please edit the (new) disambiguation page at Waterwheel (disambiguation) to make a link to it. Thanks. PamD 10:40, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I agree with what you contribution about the Title of the article and it has been rectified. The article's title is indeed now Waterwheel (website). Thanks for your comments and feedback. Jeffasiedu (talk) 22:47, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Waterwheel (website)

edit

Hello Jeffasiedu,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Waterwheel (website) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, czar · · 04:06, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Waterwheel (website)

edit

Hi Jeffasiedu! You did some good work on the Waterwheel article. :) I saw your request at the Teahouse, so I made some modifications in order to be able to remove the deletion tag that was placed. Hopefully they are ok. As a couple of suggestions, though, there were two issues with the article which relate to why it was nominated. This first is that you need to show that the subject has been "noticed", which on Wikipedia is normally refered to as "notability". It works as a bit of a filter for Wikipedia - not everything warrants an article, so we need to see coverage of the subject in a couple of independent reliable sources. In practice, that means that people are looking for newspaper articles, magazines, books or academic papers - anything reliable that goes through an editorial process. The other issue, which is probably why someone was concerned about it earlier, is that the language needs to be suited to a wide audience - I really like what you have written, but the aim is to keep it neutral and simple. So phrases such as "this invariable yet volatile global resource", which are great to read, aren't quite the right way to word things. Instead you need to go for something simple, like "intended to celebrate water" - dull, but neutral. :)

Anyway, once again you did a great job. :) Wikipedia is tricky to get the hang of, but your first article has started well! - Bilby (talk) 09:47, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, There are some problems about editing talk page messages to which other people have replied - it's good form at least to update your signature date-and-time, and usually to leave the previous stuff there but struck out (as you'd left it, my reply of 9:06 appears as a reply to your message of 03:15, but you'd altered the text so it no longer made sense!), but never mind that for now: concentrate on getting the article up to scratch. Proposed deletion of Waterwheel (website)

edit

The article Waterwheel (website) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails to satisfy notability as per WP:WEB: 'Articles which merely include an external link and a brief description of its contents may be deleted.' Although the article has some sources, these sources do not qualify the website as notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
