Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Prisoner characters – inmates, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. August 2010

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Last of the Summer Wine. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Redfarmer (talk) 22:17, 30 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

The thing you have to realise is that Redfarmer has had to put up with a whole day of uncited observational/personal recollection-type edits to the article via it being on the main page and in the news. And, although one doesn't "own" an article, if one has almost single handedly got an article to FA standard, it is quite annoying for somebody to come along and add lots of uncited material. So, probably cut him some slack. After all, if you've been doing this for "eight years" (Wikipedia was only founded in 2001, and your first edit is from 2006), then you probably know that featured articles have to be verifiable - lots of "citation needed" templates are likely to lose an article that status. Also, you should note I only chose to use a level 3 warning because you ignored two previous warnings for the exact same offense within the last two months. We welcome the addition of material, but it should always be properly cited. Thanks for your assistance in this. Redfarmer (talk) 04:40, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. In The Dukes of Hazzard, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Moonshiner (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Repton Infinity Robbo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Repton Infinity Robbo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:11, 7 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
