Sky Insider HD

Hi, just wondering why Sky Insider HD was removed from the Sky Information channels. It's not present on any category. Kei_Jo (Talk to me baby! :þ) 17:33, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Read your edit note on List of HD channels in Ireland, I was assuming Sky Insider HD was only available to UK. My apologies. Kei_Jo (Talk to me baby! :þ) 17:44, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

No problem. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 10:34, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Comedy Central Extra logo.png

Thanks for uploading File:Comedy Central Extra logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 04:37, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

edit

hi Im trying to to edit something on my companys page, however the content is keep on getting deleted. And I dont understand why, as I have the authority to do so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.7.88.34 (talk) 12:44, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

There are more than enough warnings on your talk page asking you to stop and explain why you're deleting content, not to use Wikipedia for advertising and to exercise caution when editing due to your conflict of interest. You have chosen to ignore them and your changes have been reverted to the last good version of the article. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 17:04, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello

Hi, Jasmeet, may i please ask you why do you keep editing MOST of the articles i've contributed to/created and change the whole format of them? I find this really annoying and it's making me feel unwelcome and like i don't belong here! Fatty2k10 (talk) 06:10, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia, ie. you don't own articles, even in your user pages. You haven't provided any examples of edits that I have done which are not constructive or are against Wikipedia policies or guidelines. Despite what you think, I actually do live within the area so I may have an interest in the topics. I don't for example edit Dancing with the Stars or The X Factor related articles, which you do. On the Paul James Coaches article you actually invited help.[1] As for not feeling welcome, look at your own behaviour and consider how welcoming that is.[2][3][4] - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 08:09, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

recent edits

The recent edits that you made appear that you are engaged in an Edit War. If you or the IP violates the 3RR, I will report either of you. Why did you warn the IP for vandalism? He did not vandalize from what I could see. Crazymonkey1123 (Jacob) T or M/Sign mine 15:46, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

I assume your referring to List of digital terrestrial television channels (UK). There are two notices in the section asking editors not to add that content to page, I also provided a wikilink to where the content should be (and already is) in the first edit summery. A different IP undid that without providing a reason, I gave them a Uw-disruptive1 for disruptive editing (not vandalism) which also assumes good faith on their part, you've removed that and given them Uw-3rr which seems very harsh for their first edit. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 16:22, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
Thehelpfulone: This still proves that I am hated by everyone on Wikipedia! Crazymonkey1123 (Jacob) T or M/Sign mine 16:32, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
I hope that was a joke. I've realised that you may also be counting this from yesterday towards a potential 3RR violation. In that edit the user attempted to add "BT Vision or Top Up TV" as a number. The user has a history of introducing intentional factual errors or vandalising pages and I did feel that adding a vandalism warning was justified. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 17:02, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

Thurmaston Bus

The reason i've not altered the other buses in use is because there is no reason to change them e.g. Plaxton Primo wouldn't be right as just primo so thats the reason they have stayed the way they are! also they have been called enviro200dart/enviro300/alx400 since the article was created so why feel the need to change them? Fatty2k10 (talk) 17:44, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

That may be your opinion based on what you call them personally. The full name should be in the article, as with all of the other buses in the article, for the sake of consistency (see, WP:CONSISTENCY) if nothing else. Whether you agree or disagree, let me know as ignoring the discussion isn't going to fix anything. Again, Wikipedia is collaborative, changes can and will happen to articles. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 18:05, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

3rr warning at Thurmaston Bus

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Thurmaston Bus. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fatty2k10 (talkcontribs) 18:24, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

So much for trying to work to a resolution then. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 18:32, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Ginx TV

Hello, someone has opened a discussion on potentially erasing the Ginx TV article. I obviously oppose this but was wondering if you would mind adding your take on the this matter to the discussion as you have edit this article yesterday of course. Thanks (Ruth-2013 (talk) 06:36, 28 May 2011 (UTC))

Done. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 12:30, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
You may need to leave your vote again I am not sure how this works but as me and you where the only one who voted they re-listed the AFD for a further 7 days. (Ruth-2013 (talk) 09:04, 4 June 2011 (UTC))

Yesterday+1

Hello,

I am certain that WP:Crystal does not apply in this case as in my opinion a brand new ofcom license is a valid source. However I have removed yesterday+1 till some sort of Consensus can be reached. So my proposal is we open a discussion on the use of ofcom licenses in the articles at the WikiProject British TV channels to get a more wider range of views and reach a Consensus that way. Would you be up for that? (Ruth-2013 (talk) 09:08, 4 June 2011 (UTC))

Wikipedia is not a crystal ball does apply in my opinion as the launch of Yesterday +1 is not almost certain to take place and speculation about it is not well documented. I have no problems with the licenses being used as a source for certain things but I don't think it's appropriate to this claim. The presence of a broadcast license does not directly support the claim that the channel will launch, the Manchester Teleshopping channels removed a few days ago are evidence of this. The size of UKTV is irrelevant, some of the other unused licenses, which are not from a defunct service, are from companies which currently operate DTT channels or services on behalf of other broadcasters, none of which are listed in the article. If you want to open it up for discussion, I would probably post it on the reliable sources noticeboard or the article's talk page, WikiProject British TV channels isn't very active but maybe a note inviting comments should be posted there in the latter case. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 06:14, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Freeview multplex names/mtvnhd

2 things, I attempted to open a discussion at the tv channels project page but it looks like its not very active anymore. I would like the multiplex names on freeview channels added to the info box as I think this would be useful information in there however I wanted some sort on consensus before adding them just in case they ended up been removed again. Was wondering if you had any thoughts on this?

Also have you had any more thoughts on mtvnhd? From the discussion on the talk page it looked like there was only me and yourself interested in this matter. Maybe if we could sort this out between ourselves the move could be requested as uncontroversial. (Ruth-2013 (talk) 15:47, 20 July 2011 (UTC))

I'll add my opinion on the multiplex proposal on the project's page but you may also want to make note of it on Infobox television channel and WikiProject Television. With regard to MTVNHD, I'm almost certain that WP:COMMONNAME would mean that the page should be renamed MTV Live HD at some point, for example MTV Live HD already returns 2,170,000 results while MTVNHD returns 1,010,000 results from English language websites, minus Wikipedia. I'm open to the having a UK section but not if its only a sentence or two. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 22:22, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
I have added my thoughts on the wiki tv channels discussion page if you wish to look. In regards to MTVNHD/MTV Live HD do you yourself have any ideas how we could have a bigger uk section, I can see your point that its not worth doing for one or two sentences. But I just feel that uk channels list cable/sat etc should not link to a page with the title mtv live HD. My other suggestion if we cant come up with a english section would be to have the newly Moved MTV LIVE HD page to state in the first sentence of the article in bold that its still called mtvnhd in the UK 1 sentence as an opener to the article would be fine if located there. That way people who are not sure of the title in other countries would know they reached the correct page. Either a separate section made or my last suggestion would be OK by me. Its just that one sentence you had was too far down the article to be spotted at the point of someone spotting the title to the page and not in bold. Also could the logo for mtvnhd be kept and labeled as the current uk logo. If you would agree to either one of those suggestions you would have my support to get it moved now(Ruth-2013 (talk) 23:21, 21 July 2011 (UTC))
I have had another thought about this. The current opener is: MTVNHD (also known as MTV Live HD and VH1 HD in certain regions) can it not be: MTV Live HD (also known as MTVNHD in the UK&Ireland and VH1 HD in Brazil) or something smiler to that affect. Then where the new mtv live hd logo is located put the mtvnhd logo there with some text underneath stating its the current logo used in the UK or something to that effect.
If the above suggestion is acceptable to you feel free to move it now as I would support the move if the above is implemented. I don't think the text on cable/sat lists should be changed from mtvnhd either but would let that slide if we agreed on the rest of the suggestion(Ruth-2013 (talk) 23:55, 21 July 2011 (UTC))
The suggestion sounds good but as the move was previously contested, I think I'll have to list it as controversial and open a discussion again. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 13:06, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

TVCatchup's court decision

Hi my friend great edit on TVCatchup, but I would like to pick up one or two points as I am in receipt of the court judgement and it is quite different to what you said on the TVCatchup Wiki page. You said: "TVCatchup claims victory on the grounds that the service is allowed to continue operating until a final decision is made" which in my mind gives them very little grounds at all and for the life of me and I cannot find this quotation. This is not the main reason why TVCatchup claimed victory as it is because 70% of their channels are legal under s73 (Copyright, Designs & Patents Act); this leaves 30%, and of what is left, 17.5% of the traffic is viewing content which is present with the consent of the broadcaster. This leaves only 12.5% of the channels, that are in contention and will be ruled upon in the EU courts.

This is the reason I feel why TVCatchup is and quite strongly claiming victory.

I you would like a copy of the judgement then by all means I will give you one, just send me your email.

I work in IPTV, not for TVCatchup I may add, and have a specific interest in the subject. The decision is going to change the industry significantly and I think we should be very careful and responsible how we report its development and by saying that I am by no means slating what you say at all.

Kind regards, Steve s.wake@yahoo.co.uk — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevewake1962 (talkcontribs) 06:31, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

I think you've got the wrong user, FunkyCanute added that information. I'm not familiar with the situation but the judgement would need to be published to meet the verifiability policy. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 22:22, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

My deepest apologies, you are of course correct. Re: The judgement, it has been published. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevewake1962 (talkcontribs) 15:02, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Comedy Central.

Just to let you know I managed to revert the pages using the wikipedia revert function. Right now we have the original page back. Anyway I have opened a move discussion on the talk page in an effort to move the page the correct way. I don't care if you support or oppose either way, that choice is yours so I am not attempting to vote stack. Only reason I am notifying you is out of courtesy as I have seen some of your edits very recently where about this page. (Ruth-2013 (talk) 01:20, 28 July 2011 (UTC))

MTV Live HD

Hi,

Page has been moved now and discussion closed, I will attempt to make some of the changes as agreed. Can you look it over some time and make sure its all looks OK to yourself (Ruth-2013 (talk) 01:46, 29 July 2011 (UTC))

I have updated as much as I could see needs it. If I have missed anything feel free to update further. Also can you have a look to see if you think there is too much bold text in the new opener and if there is turn it back into normal text(Ruth-2013 (talk) 01:56, 29 July 2011 (UTC))

Sky

I think you'll find that Sky is available all around the world, most notably in Italy and Germany. I edited the pages so that citizens of countries with Sky television aren't confused when the channel isn't available on their local version User:Nbdelboy (talk) 05:20, 30 July 2011 (GMT)

You've kind of proved my point with the links. Of the services that have been connected with News Corp. (AFAIK), Italy - Sky Italia, Germany/Austria - Sky Deutschland, India - Tata Sky, Mexico - SKY México, Brazil - SKY Brasil, New Zealand - Sky Network Television. However the UK/Irish service from BSkyB is just called Sky, BSkyB do not provide any of the other services mentioned. Also no where in the announcement is exclusivity to Sky mentioned. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 05:38, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
I really can't be bothered anymore, even if they do get confused they can always click the link and see that it means Sky (UK & Ireland) not their local equivelant. Also in the press release it states that "UKTV, has cemented its pay TV commitment by signing a landmark content deal with BSkyB (Sky) to launch its first video on demand (VoD) service on Sky Anytime+ and a further three high definition (HD) channels." I think that is enough for the article to state the channels are exclusive to Sky, as are the other 2 HD channels from UKTV. User:Nbdelboy (talk) 06:44, 30 July 2011 (GMT)
The other two current channels may only be available on Sky but exclusivity would mean that no other provider would be allowed to carry the channels. ITV2 HD is an example of how one doesn't mean the other. Since there is no mention of such terms, it should not be added as it is speculative. With regards to the S, the MediaWiki software handles the extra character itself, see Help:Link#Wikilinks. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 05:57, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Actually you've been the one going around changing things to a longer version which renders the same for no apparent reason, see what the link was originally added as: [5][6][7] - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 06:21, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Talk Page archiving

Previously I has been erasing all talk page discussions in order to keep my main talk page clear, but then I thought about setting up archiving in order to keep a record of future discussions. I attempted to set that up but I think I have done it wrong as its not working. Then I have noticed you have the same thing setup so I wondered if you could either help me set this up or set it up on my behalf on my talk page with my permission of course. (Ruth-2013 (talk) 10:20, 7 August 2011 (UTC))

It should be working but by default MiszaBot leaves a minimum of five threads on your talk page and archives a minimum of two. To change the numbers add the following parameters to the template:
| minthreadsleft = x
| minthreadstoarchive = x

Where x would be the desired value. Additional parameters can be found on User:MiszaBot/Archive HowTo#Parameters explained. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 23:26, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Logos

I believe all the logos should be labeled in one form, the most used form I have seen used is without the word logo in it and I went though over 100 tv channels logos yesterday. In fact its mostly yourself who has used the form with the word logo in it from the channels I looked at yesterday.

I think the file names are just not correct this way. Maybe if they where renamed to something like Sky Living (TV channel) or something of that nature. But like I say I am correct in saying the file names without the word logo in it is the most used form I come across. And it certainly don't need to be there. Either way I think this files should have there names in one format, maybe a discussion can be opened somewhere to discuss this. Either it should be the format with the word logo in it or Sky Living (TV channel) or just the channels name. Your comment saying its simply untrue is a bit offensive when I actually looked into my claims, I honestly think your just upset because one of the files you uploaded. But as I say there should be one format we use for the channels. 1 more thing, I was thinking do you think maybe we should consider removing former logos that a channel has used after a certain amount of time? I would like your thoughts on this. I am of the opinion they should be removed from the articles after arond a month and the files requested to be erased. I am having a hard time seeing it as fair use for old logos and in some cases logos that have not been used in a number of years. People after so long will know what the new logo is for a channel.(Ruth-2013 (talk) 21:50, 11 August 2011 (UTC))

The problem is that your belief isn't supported by any of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, at least that I know of. As a matter of principle it's best to leave all files with generally valid names at their locations, even if slightly better names may exist. Maybe within Category:British television logos a lot of the files with 'logo' have been been uploaded by me, because a lot of the files I've uploaded are British television logos, but I can see many which weren't as well as number of foreign ones. Even the Wikipedia logo contains 'logo' in the file name. Of the four files you nominated to be renamed, all four were originally uploaded by different users. Perhaps the word untrue was strong but the reason given was was misleading considering a significant number do contain the word 'logo'.
I don't agree that logos should be removed just because they're no longer current. However non-free media which no longer meets it's rationale or NFCC should be considered for deletion. I would exercise caution though as a lot have been licensed incorrectly, e.g. File:LIVINGtv2 logo.png should fall under public domain instead of copyright, as its just plain text. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 01:47, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Thats not right you uploaded this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:LIVINGit_logo.png you can see that from the edit history. Also don't you think it seams odd that there is that much differences in the file names because I do, maybe all new file names for any future uploads should be worded in a certain way then. When requesting renames I went with the format I had seen the most out of all the article I looked at. Also can you go into a bit further detail as too what use you think the former logos serve to the articles. I am trying to get how these can be used under fair use but at the minute I can't see it plus I am sure after a while most people would be aware of new branding thats why I suggested removing them a month of so after rebranding. (Ruth-2013 (talk) 02:34, 12 August 2011 (UTC))
When I said that all four images were uploaded by different users, I meant they weren't uploaded by the same person, whether that's me or someone else. Again what your proposing isn't part of any of Wikipedia's current policies or guidelines, the file names which contain 'logo' do accurately describe the contents of the file and don't fall under the seven widely undisputed uses for rename requests. Personal preference doesn't really come into it.
The relevant policy and guidelines on logos and fair use are WP:LOGOS, WP:NFC and WP:NFCC, it isn't really a timing issue. In a nutshell, Template:Non-free logo says logos for certain uses involving identification and critical commentary may qualify as fair use. The use of historic TV logos seems to be somewhat controversial though, see 1, 2, 3 and 4 for example. Taking the example of Sky Livingit again, the logos do represent significant changes to the branding of the channel which are discussed within the article itself. Obviously non-free content criteria isn't required for public domain images although trademarks may apply. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 06:19, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

BBC parliament

We where editing at the same time. On the document you posted by the bbc trust. Go to page 3 second sentence from bottom it says parliament will show a slate only, this is posh speak for a MHEG caption. So what that means is bbc threes usual slot will be empty during the games and a bit before and parliament will not be shown on DTT at all. I have to ask did your read the whole source before posting it? (Ruth-2013 (talk) 20:15, 15 August 2011 (UTC))

Nope, just went to add the cite for Challenge and got an edit conflict with 82.24.224.141 and decided to tidy up what was already there as it was partly applicable to some of the other pages (easier to copy). - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 20:28, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
I see what went on. I thought you added the info as I got edit conflict with you. Sorry it looks like IP 82.24.224.141 added the incorrect info about parliament. So I apologize.(Ruth-2013 (talk))
The IP made some changes to the shopping channel names, Muzer added the information on Challenge and BBC Three/Parliament a bit earlier. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 20:46, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
got ya. Theres been that many edits today to the article I got confused. I will drop Muzer a talk page edit just incase he sees the changes to his edits. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.(Ruth-2013 (talk) 20:50, 15 August 2011 (UTC))

"Virgin Media has just completed agreements to launch the new HD channels from UKTV. I'm really pleased to say that we'll be adding them to our HD channel line-up as soon as we possibly can. First of all, don't remove content from other users talk pages without their permission or good reason, it is considered a form of vandalism. I'm well of aware of that document and there is no mention of where the channel will launch. Both Sky and Virgin have had exclusive HD channels from the broadcaster. It is however listed on List of HD channels in the UK#Before 2012. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 16:43, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Disney Channel HD on Virgin Media

I do not see any proof that Disney Channel HD will launch on Virgin Media http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Channel_%28UK_%26_Ireland%29#Disney_Channel_HD 81.98.187.243 (talk) 17:29, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

So why didn't you remove it or add a citation needed tag? - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 23:19, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Sky Sports 3 HD and Sky Sports 4 HD launching on Virgin Media

Sky Sports 3 HD and Sky Sports 4 HD launching on Virgin Media very soon. http://www.virginmedia.com/tvradio/tv-highlights/sport/red-button-october-2011.php — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.98.187.243 (talkcontribs) 22:23, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Probably an error, then again it doesn't mention that the page is limited to Virgin Media, just Sky Sports. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 12:08, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi

Hi Jasmeet 181,

I don´t undestand why you deleted my contribution about the new satelite Astra 1N in mid October. I was only trying to be constructive and add important and relevant aditional information to all the regular visitors(like myself) to this fantastic page. It´s disapointing when you try to contribute in a positive way and this is the treatment that you get. I really love this page, it´s allways updated and very well organised. I was only trying to be helpful. Best Regards,

RS — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.48.185.205 (talk) 10:26, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Mainly because your somewhat speculative quip regarding Freesat was unnecessary in a Sky article but tuning/satellite details aren't provided in that article anyway. The information could be more useful on List of free-to-air channels at 28°E, Astra 28.2°E or Astra 1N. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 12:08, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Future channels and events on Smallworld Cable

"We are committed to adding substantially to the number of channels available as part of these packages, with new standard definition and high definition channels launching over the coming few months following the eight new channels launched in September. This will include the launch of Sky One HD, Sky Living HD and Sky Arts HD as part of the Ultimate HD TV Pack." http://www.smallworldcable.com/Blog/September/Product---Price-Changes-2011 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.98.187.243 (talk) 21:28, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

You could have added that yourself as it's published by a reliable source. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 13:32, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Sky Arts 1 and 2 Coming to M+ package?

The list of virgin media channels here http://shop.virginmedia.com/digital-tv/channels.html states that Sky Arts 1 and 2 + the HD versions are coming to size M+ and L etc, just wondering what your thoughts were on this?, or if this is an error on Virgin Medias part? I'm not sure if this needs adding to the Wikipedia page or not so your advice is needed 82.15.8.146 (talk) 19:12, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

An error according to [8], [9] and [10]. I can't find any announcements about it moving either, good spot though. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 02:23, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

BBC One in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in HD from 2012

"We will continue to invest in high-definition broadcasting, including through the replacement of BBC HD with a single version of BBC Two HD. The proposals still need to be approved by the BBC Trust, who have opened a public consultation which runs until 21 December 2011.[11] The information is already on BBC HD and BBC One#High-definition. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 05:21, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Yes those are the linear television channels available in the Sky Movies Collection, that does no refer to VOD. Why would VOD content be available from Sky Movies Premiere +1 for example? As far as I know Disney Cinemagic is not included in the deal either. "A selection of Sky Movies titles will be available at no extra cost to Sky Movies Collection customers (SD only)"[12] is quite explicit. Even with well-sourced material, if you use it out of context, or to advance a position not directly and explicitly supported by the source, you are engaging in original research. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 17:12, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

You have misread look at these *** and ****

Virgin Media today confirmed that thousands of hours of films, shows, sport and news will be added to its pioneering TV On Demand service with the launch of Sky Anytime on Virgin Media. The addition of Sky Anytime on Virgin Media will increase what is already the largest collection of On Demand entertainment in the UK by over a third, to provide over 6,500 hours of TV and movies On Demand, with selected content available in HD and 3D.

Virgin Media TV customers now have access to On Demand content from a range of Sky channels in line with their underlying subscriptions.* With the content bundled into their existing TV package at no extra cost, this adds even more value for customers. Virgin Media delivers an instant TV On Demand experience, through its dedicated fibre optic network.**

The arrival of Sky Anytime on Virgin Media makes Virgin Media a leading destination for movies On Demand as film fanatics can now enjoy access to over one thousand titles at the press of a button. Virgin Media TV customers subscribed to the Sky Movies Collection*** will now be able to access up to 500 titles from Sky Anytime as well as over 500 movies made available through FilmFlex, PictureBox and Virgin Media Player.

Sports fans subscribed to the Sky Sports Collection**** will also have the opportunity to catch-up on the latest sporting action, with highlights from the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League football, international cricket and European Tour Golf.

Sky Anytime on Virgin Media has already started rolling out, initially for customers on Virgin Media’s XL TV tier who will have instant access to popular shows On Demand including Glee, Steven Spielberg’s Terra Nova and more from Sky1, Sky Living, Sky Arts and Sky News, and in HD where available. From early 2012 selected programmes from these channels will also be made available to M+ TV customers and above through Sky Anytime on Virgin Media.

A range of On Demand content from Sky’s channels will also be made available in the coming weeks online through the Virgin Media Player service.

Cindy Rose, executive director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media, said: “Virgin Media offers the most complete TV On Demand experience in the UK and is the perfect place for movie fans with over one thousand fantastic films available instantly On Demand.”

“The addition of Sky Anytime on Virgin Media forms part of our ongoing commitment to developing a compelling and complete digital entertainment service. With a growing On Demand library designed to offer range and depth, all delivered instantly, customers now have even more flexibility to enjoy whatever they want, whenever they want it.” Virgin Media’s TV On Demand service boasts thousands of hours of high-quality content including HD and 3D. The service includes seven day catch-up TV from all public service broadcasters as well as full series and exclusives from content partners such as FX, Warner TV, Aardman Studios, Starz and Discovery Networks.

The press release reads: "Virgin Media TV customers subscribed to the Sky Movies Collection*** will now be able to access up to 500 titles from Sky Anytime as well as over 500 movies made available through FilmFlex, PictureBox and Virgin Media Player."
"***Channels include Sky Movies Modern Greats, Sky Movies Drama & Romance, Sky Movies Family, Sky Movies Classics, Sky Movies Comedy, Sky Movies Action & Adventure, Sky Movies Crime & Thriller, Sky Movies Sci-Fi & Horror, Sky Movies Indie, Sky Movies Premiere, Sky Movies Showcase, Sky Movies Premiere +1, Disney Cinemagic, and all HD variants excluding Disney Cinemagic and Sky Premiere +1."
Note how Disney Cinemagic and Sky Premiere +1 are mentioned twice. All it's saying is the Sky Movies Collection contains channels blah, blah, Disney Cinemagic and Sky Premiere +1, all of which are in HD except Disney Cinemagic and Sky Premiere +1. The note makes no mention of VOD at all. It's essentially the same message regarding the Sky Sports Collection, however I'm not aware of any statement saying Sky Sports won't be available in HD on demand so I'm not sure what you wanted me to look at there. Again, your reading into things and coming up with your own conclusions, which have been explicitly disproved. Once again to be clear, "A selection of Sky Movies titles will be available at no extra cost to Sky Movies Collection customers (SD only)".[13] - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 23:52, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

Thsi article makes no mention of Sky Sports Anytime http://www.virginmedia.com/tvradio/features/sky-anytime-on-virgin-media-tv.php. the Press Release is everything that will be coming — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.98.187.243 (talk) 00:05, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

First of all, apologies on the error in the edit summary, you're right I meant the Sky Anytime on Virgin Media TV and online article. However, it does include information on Sky Sports - "How will Sky Anytime On Virgin Media differ from Sky Anytime and Sky Anytime+ on the Sky Platform? For the channels that Virgin Media carry (Sky1, Sky Living, Sky Arts, Sky News, Sky Movies & Sky Sports), Sky Anytime On Virgin Media will carry pretty much all the same programs as the Sky Anytime and Sky Anytime+ service on the Sky Platform. There may be a very small number of exceptions owing to some rights clearances."
The forum post you briefly referenced says "I think" and "All views are my own".[14] The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material in Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true. Self-published sources, such as forum posts, are largely not acceptable.
I disagree that the press release supports your claim but you are free to solicit the opinions of others, at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard for example. P.S. please remain civil.[15] - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 01:31, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

Virgin Media will get Sky Movies in HD on Sky Anytime http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35315903-post414.html 81.98.187.243 (talk) 20:41, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

Again that's the opinion of someone on a forum, it's even stated in their signature. The editors note in press release conveys the same message as the text under Sky Premium HD on the "channels" section of Virgin's sales website, "channels" is also the same word used in the editors note. Also note, none of press using of the press release have reported your view.[16] Disney Cinemagic (SD) has never been announced as part of the deal, yet the editors note says it's included, because its referring to the channel package. Even if your confident that Sky Movies HD content will be added, there's no harm in waiting for a proper announcement before adding it. Alternatively you can ask at the relevant noticeboard, associated WikiProject etc. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 09:07, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

It says Disney Cinemagic and Sky Premiere +1 is excluded

excluding Disney Cinemagic and Sky Premiere +1 http://mediacentre.virginmedia.com/Stories/Sky-Anytime-on-Virgin-Media-rolls-out-on-TV-and-online-21da.aspx — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.98.187.243 (talkcontribs) 11:02, 16 October 2011‎

No it does not, it says that the Sky Movies Collection does not include HD versions of Disney Cinemagic (not carried by Virgin Media) and Sky Premiere +1 (non-existent) but SD channels are included.
"Channels include Sky Movies Modern Greats, Sky Movies Drama & Romance, Sky Movies Family, Sky Movies Classics, Sky Movies Comedy, Sky Movies Action & Adventure, Sky Movies Crime & Thriller, Sky Movies Sci-Fi & Horror, Sky Movies Indie, Sky Movies Premiere, Sky Movies Showcase, Sky Movies Premiere +1, Disney Cinemagic, and all HD variants excluding Disney Cinemagic and Sky Premiere +1."
You're quoting parts and taking it out of context to advance your position. I have no interest in repeating myself further on this matter. - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 04:35, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
