Speedy deletion of Manuel Guittet

edit

A tag has been placed on Manuel Guittet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Parviz Haghendish

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Parviz Haghendish, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://ra.ottawafencing.ca/about/coaches.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Parviz Haghendish

edit

Hi Patrick,

if Parviz Haghendish represented and coached his country at fencing then we should have an article about him in Wikipedia, but we need to have independent verification that he did so. A Google search for his name only finds the RA Centre and Ottawa Fencing Club sites, which don't count as independent. Do you have any other sources for this information such as newspaper articles? They don't necessarily have to be online if you can provide full details of the publication. They also don't have to be in English - maybe there are some Persian language sources? Or maybe there are sources in English that use a different spelling of his name - often there is more than one way to spell a name in English when it originates from somewhere that doesn't use the Latin alphabet. If you can't find any such sources then the article may be deleted as information that is unverifiable. If you can't find any sources yourself then it would at least be useful if you could provide the spelling of his name in the Persian alphabet, which would help others to look for sources.

You may wish to read up on relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines such as verifiability, notability and reliable sources. Phil Bridger (talk) 19:45, 24 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Parviz Haghendish

edit

Sources for Parviz Haghendish

edit

If you can find sources (internet or print, English or Persian) which meet Wikipedia's reliable sources guideline, you should add them to the article or in the deletion discussion to ensure that the article is not deleted. If the claims in the article are proven, then it will pass WP:BIO, and will most likely be kept. Thanks, --Patar knight - chat/contributions 17:27, 26 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
