Unification Church

There is a user "Uncle Ed" who is deleting whole sections of my edits on the Unification Church page. I agree that I need to improve my edits and I will as time goes by. But I do not think it is fair to deleted whole sections. Why is it that a admitted Unification Church member like Uncle Ed can dominate the article the way he does? I know that religion is a difficult, and tedious area and I opologize for making your work more difficult, but I do feel the article needs to be more balanced.

Yes, please stop me if I get carried away with Wikipedia:Text move of sections I see as poorly written. It's dreadfully difficult for one to be objective or impartial concerning one's own religion (or ex-religion? ;-) so any help from a third party will be much appreciated. I was editing from my phone when I wrote the original comment. Typing using a cell keypad is cumbersome so I kept the message as short as I could. 2006 FIFA World Cup - spam links

Please don't remove the {{{cleanup-spam}}} template from 2006 FIFA World Cup. The whole point of it is to discourage people from adding spam links and to encourage other users to remove it when it appears. Poeple have been constantly adding all sorts of spam links to the page and we keep having to remove them. See Sudoku for similar usage. Jooler 01:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

I disagree with the usage of the template when there are not actually any spam links there. Using a comment in the code is ok, but this is just rather unprofessional. How difficult is it really to clean out all the spam links once a day. I've done it a number of times, no big deal. But I'm rather busy at the moment and I'm sure you won't agree and this could turn into a long pointless discussion, which I don't have time for, so if you realy want to keep it go ahead. Well I've had to remove spam about 4 times in the last week. But on some occasions its difficult to decide what is and what isn't a spam link and such discussions can also turn into long winded arguments. They have a policy about external links on the Sudoku page and it works well and I suggested such myself on the talk:2006 FIFA World Cup page. I'm very sorry for this confusion, but I (user C_vasilevski) have never contributed or edited a page in Wikipedia before. I just became a member to address this concern. The IP address 65.95.95.147.108 was mentioned in the title for this page. I'm worried that what may have happened is that I may have been the victim of a hacker - is it possible for my computer to be unknowingly used in this manner by anyone else? I'd appreciate your help in solving this.

Inconsistensies and political interests

Is there a particular reason why the PKK, a terrorist group recognized by the USA and the EU, is not allowed to be listed as a terrorist group on Wikipedia and is sugar-coated as a "militant group" why while the "Holfstad network" is listed as a "Islamist terrorist organization"? One has killed thousands of people and is clearly labeled as a terrorist group by the USA and the EU (that includes the Dutch!). The other is a group that has threatened a group of Dutch Islamophobes. I think its clear which is more likely to be labeled a terrorist group by a long shot.

There seems to be a concentrated effort by some here to revise articles to make it seem like there is no such thing as suffering Muslims or Muslim victims in the world.

I have been active in the Islamophobia article, but mainly in the role of Wikipedia Administrator, and I have tried to get people who disagree to collaborate effectively, and to overcome disagreements. Nowhere have I said that Islamophobia does not exist. Regarding the PKK and the Hofstad Group, you have to understand that Wikipedia does not define what certain groups are: we only use information from reliable sources and cover that. So when Mohammed Bouyeri killed Theo van Gogh as a member of the Hofstad Group, many media outlets, including Arabic and Turkish ones reported that this was a terrorist organisation. Therefore Wikipedia describes them as such. We are encyclopedists, not historians or journalists. We do not have the qualification or the inclination to decide on such issues. Regarding the status of the PKK, I am not an expert but again our policies of following reliable secondary sources is appropriate. You need to lobby organisations like the BBC or the New York Times, not Wikipedia, if you want to see a real change here. Hope that answers your questions. International Squad Templates

Just said I would tell you about this. A trend has started on wikipedia lately of doing each country's world cup squad going back for years. This is turning into a bit of a problem as certain players have played in numerous world cups. Just look at Paolo Maldini

My solution is redoing these international templates with a "Hide" features. I've done a very basic job on one of them below.

I'm not as yet able to add the country's flags or increase the size of the writing. I'm not able to change the colour of "Hide" either. Just wondering if you want to have a go at improving it so it can be used in articles ?

If you want to contribute please post your replies at the discussion section at Template:World Cup Squads as there could be a number of people contributing to this.

Template main

Hi, I'm not an admin so I can't revert, but would you mind opening your changes to a discussion before making the change? Main is seen across thousands of articles and has been a very touchy topic with many people - see the discussion page. Your proposal is just one of dozens that have come along to "improve" it, but really, most people just want a simple look that is as unobtrusive the text as possible. I for one have stopped using the template because it has been so unstable and keeps changing every time someone has a new style idea. -- Stbalbach 15:33, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701

I noticed that you've tagged the article with a "move to Wikisource" tag. However, please note that this text cannot be moved to Wikisource, as it is the accepted draft but not the final text. There is a space already reserved for the final resolution as soon as UN has published it, and when that text is in place we will of course remove the draft text and link the article to the Wikisource text instead. Please see Talk:United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 where this course of action was outlined several hours ago. In the meantime I'll remove the tag, in order to prevent ambitious people who haven't read the talk page, from getting the idea that they should reformat the current text and insert it in Wikipedia. Wikify dates in references

Hi, just curious. Why did you removed the date links from refs in Ayaan Hirsi Ali. I coudn't really find anything about it on the WP:Mos, but doesn't the same count here as with the other date links, that people can see the date according to their preferences? You don't understand WP:3RR, it doesn't matter what Netscott was trying to do, the fact was he purposefully "undoing the actions of another editor or other editors in whole or part" at least 4 times in a 24 hour period.

Is it possible for you to investigate the behaviour of User:83.1992.2006 or request that someone else does. This person is really spoiling my enjoyment of Wiki. His behaviour is well documented at Talk:FC Barcelona and at his own user page. He has now started to mess with other articles including Copa del Rey and Athletic Bilbao. I also think he has been masquerading under other names and anonymously. In my opinion he should be banned. I have not come across a single article that he has made a positive impact on. Trophies section is perfect and Athletic has 23 Cups not 24, may be you should check the 6 links I gave you in Barça talk page and in your own talk page. Djln should be banned not me. Statistics for Dutch players

Unfortunately I have to admit that I found it incredibly tough to get statistics for Dirk Kuyt! You know where I started, and that I had problems finding Dutch Cup details. I was getting his goals by simply counting the number of times Kuyt (or Kuijt) featured on the rsssf.com pages. The only source I have for the full statistics is lfchistory.net. Thankfully Liverpool FC is served by this wonderful site! Boulahrouz may be incredibly tough to source appearances and goals for if you don't luck out in a similar way that I did with Kuyt... sorry I can't be more helpful. aLii 20:18, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Although I'm not sure what this dispute is about, if you'll bear with me I might suggest that you look at Wikipedia less as a battlefield where you have enemies and allies. There is no need to leave intimidating messages on people's talk pages. We are all here to remove the curse that is the veil of ignorance that shrouds the world. I respect your point of view even if I disagree with you. The point of Wikipedia is that we can use civil discourse to reach an understanding and to increase mutual respect and understanding. Please make an effort to take a less unilateral point of view, since this method of advocating your viewpoint is more likely to estrange you from other Wikipedians than to enable you to collaborate with them on improving the encyclopedia. The reason I decided to comment on your talk page is that I have followed you since you left that message on my talk page. I thought that you might welcome some advice on how to engage disputes in the community since you seem to be having some problems getting acceptance for your contributions. I have little interest in embroiling myself in this particular dispute, and if my comments are not welcome, you are more than free to tell me so. I never meant to stalk you, I just though that engaging in some kind of dialogue in order to achieve understanding is better than resentment. FCB 2

Is it possible that protection status can be amended on this page to allow editors with a proven record to edit. For example the 2006 Supercopa de España needs to be added. I would nominate Bcnviajero, Jacoplane, Raymond Cruise, Abreuzinho, Andromeda and Sam Korn and myself in this category. There are probably others I have missed. I do not want to discourage User:83.1992.2006, The Supersheriff and anonymous editors from getting involved, but I think editors need to prove themselves by actually writing a few articles. Djln

This why I think User:83.1992.2006 should be banned. After I request him to stop abuse, this was his response. Below is an extract from his own talk page;

Correct case of harassment

Given that I have been editing Wikipedia for over two years, have made over 40,000 edits, have been an administrator for almost two years, have been a member of the Arbitration Committee for over a year, I'm pretty clear on what harassment is or isn't (and what is or isn't great about Wikipedia, for that matter). My Talk: page makes it clear that people should post comments about articles on article Talk: pages for discussion by everyone where they belong, not on my own Talk: page, and that posts which do not follow that rule may be removed. Knowing this, Deuterium posted questions about article content to my page anyway - questions to which he full well knew the answer. When I removed them for obvious reasons, he trolled my Talk: page again. Then he convinced you to do so on his behalf. Jayjg ^(talk) 23:02, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

I haven't let anything go to my head, I'm pointing out that I have a great deal of experience with Wikipedia, and that Arbitration Committee experience is invaluable to understanding harassment. I know harassment when I see it, and I know misuse of Talk: page when I see it, and there's not point in putting up with either. Given that you know little of the actual series of events that led up to the incident you referred to, it probably would have been best had you not commented at all; given that you have commented more than once now, compounding this issue, it would probably be best if you commented on it no further. Regarding your kind invitation to IRC, I appreciate it, but I avoid IRC, as I find the kinds of conversations conducted there are generally not condusive to Wikilove. Templating

Please hold off on the WikiProject templating for the moment, or at least until you've read this: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Musicians#Organisation_of_this_project.2C_scope.2C_and_templates. I have serious concerns about the scope overlap of your Project with other projects (including Electronic Music, KLF, Beatles, but most notably WPBiography; the scope overlap could run into tens of thousands of articles). It seems to me that the best solution is to be part of WPBiography and share a template. --kingboyk 14:26, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

On the page of Galatasaray i saw a mistake but i cannot revert it becauce the page is under protection , in the Managerial area Yılmaz Gökdel was the manager in 1974-1975 season could you fix this?
