License tagging for Image:Beforeanimals.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Beforeanimals.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your uploads

edit

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! Image source problem with Image:Animals.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Animals.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:48, 24 November 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:48, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Como Sle Llama Mama, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Como Sle Llama Mama is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

Speedy deletion of Doreen Caulker

edit

A tag has been placed on Doreen Caulker requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mr. Vernon (talk) 22:06, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Athens Traffic Live

edit

A tag has been placed on Athens Traffic Live requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Notability of Devil Run

edit

The article Devil Run has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 19:18, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

You are correct; I mistakenly saw the article as qualifying for speedy deletion on criterion A9, when clearly the artist exists. I have restored the article, with tags noting hte issues that remain. If, as you say, there is charting of this song, we need to find appropriate sourcing for it, or it could still be deleted later as a non-notable song of an otherwise notable musician. This is not a speedy deletion criteria, so the process would have to go through prodding or the Articles for Deletion process. My apologies again for not reviewing the article more closely. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 19:45, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
According to what you've just added to the article, this song is a mere cover of the original, from an album that is not notable enough to have its own article. The song should be credited to John Bundrick with covers by crawler and Eric Burdon. It should not be credited to Burdon as he did not write it. Also, its notability has not yet been established. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 20:04, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm "someone else." I'm asking about the notability. I've been here a while, and I'm an administrator, so it's within my purview to ask about such things -- even though it is within any Wikipedian's purview. I will add a "working" template to the article, but if you cannot come up with references to cite for its independent notability, it may be deleted. We do not wait until a convenient time for you to add references supporting notability. Every Wikipedian has the right to question the notability, or any other facet of compliance to our standards, at any time, until such proof is provided. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 20:35, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please review guidelines regarding notability for songs

edit

Every Eric Burdon song does not merit notability. Please review the content of this link - Wikipedia:Notability_(music)#Albums.2C_singles_and_songs, especially this part:

"Most songs do not rise to notability for an independent article and should redirect to another relevant article, such as for the songwriter, a prominent album or for the artist prominently performed the song. Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups are probably notable. Notability aside, a separate article on a song is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album."

I am redirecting per guidelines

Proposed deletion of Downunder Tour 2001

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Downunder Tour 2001, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No Notability through reliable third-party sources

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of File:2007burdon.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:2007burdon.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of File:WardNielsen.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:WardNielsen.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

File source problem with File:Eric_burdon_-_survivor.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Eric_burdon_-_survivor.jpg.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:21, 23 June 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 08:21, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello JTSomers! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 874 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
