Leonardo article

edit

in case you are wondering what you just walked into, maybe you need to know that the Leonardo article has a perennial problem of people trying to add their pet theory that nobody in the last 500 years ever spotted. So any additions are checked very carefully for valid and credibly sourced citations. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 17:47, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

We also have a general problem on many articles where people add valid information but their primary motivation is to use it as a vehicle to raise the profile of their own book or journal paper. That is one of the reasons why we have a WP: conflict of interest policy. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 17:56, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Here is an example of the kind of contribution that makes us so wary. On the surface, almost convincing but... Talk:Vitruvian Man#Relevance of material on the Tuscan Order. The author is no idiot, just misguided.
Now add a new wave of ChatGPT generated material and you must see why we have to be suspicious. It is not personal, even if it feels that way. 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 19:14, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
