Fair use rationale for Image:Rhs_shield.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Rhs_shield.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 16:34, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm very sorry. I've been working off the Harrogate Grammar School article to help me get the formatting on the Roundhay School article correct. I saw that the Image:Hgs_shield.jpg had no rationale, I wasn't aware that it was needed. I will add one as soon as possible. Thank you for drawing my attention to it and explaining. Image tagging for Image:Lumix icon.png edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Lumix icon.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Hello, Iomesus! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia!--Tone 18:10, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, there's no official way really, you can for example change your userbox. So, if you have any questions about anything, I'll be glad to help you. Greetings. --Tone 19:04, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded edit

Thanks for uploading Image:PicricAcid-3D-vdW.png. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:PicricAcid-3D-vdW.png.png. The copy called Image:PicricAcid-3D-vdW.png.png has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Picric acid images edit

Hi Iomesus,

Your images at picric acid look great.

They're missing hydrogen atoms at the 3 and 5 positions - easily fixed.

I'm not sure about material settings on DS Visualizer, because I've continued to use version 1.5 despite further updates being available.

See you around WP

Incorrect use of categories in your user page edit

The use of categories at the bottom of your user page, as an easy means to access those categories, actually includes your user page IN those categories and lists it as one of the categorised documents. When others access the categories, one the pages presented is your user page. Please remove all such categorisations from your user page. 195.23.224.209 (talk) 15:05, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Do you mean this: Wikipedians adopted in Adopt-a-user | User en | User fr | User fr-2 | Wikipedia features | Wikipedians in Europe, because my user page should be listed under those categories - isn't that the whole point?
Not Wikipedia features, the remaining are fine.195.23.224.222 (talk) 19:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Physics participation edit

You received this message because your were on the old list of WikiProject Physics participants.

On 2008-06-25, the WikiProject Physics participant list was rewritten from scratch as a way to remove all inactive participants, and to facilitate the coordination of WikiProject Physics efforts. The list now contains more information, is easier to browse, is visually more appealing, and will be maintained up to date.

If you still are an active participant of WikiProject Physics, please add yourself to the current list of WikiProject Physics participants. Headbomb {ταλκWP Physics: PotW} 14:57, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
