Speedy deletion nomination of User:InsuranceDesigner25

edit

A tag has been placed on User:InsuranceDesigner25, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, InsuranceDesigner25, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

However if you continue to promote your company, you are liable to find a new any new account blocked. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:19, 18 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 16:33, 18 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock|I'm not quite sure how my username violates the username policy, as "Designer" was not in the list of words I was unable to use in my username. I am willing, however, to change the username, again, to GreenAndGold25 if I could be unblocked. I see you also assume that this page is being used for promotional materials. I am very new at Wikipedia, so would it be possible to receive some guidance on this issue instead of being blocked? Is the only thing I need references? If that is the case, does our company website count as a reference? I fully intend to cooperate with your policies; however, this website is incredibly difficult to navigate when trying to understand how to create a page. Could you please unblock me and and help me figure this out without wasting hours of my time only to be blocked again?}}

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Allowing username change to GreenAndGold25 (talk · contribs). Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking.

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I'll assume good faith, and caution you in the following ways:

  • Wikipedia is Not for promotion, among many other things it is WP:NOT
  • Please read WP:CORP and WP:FIRST
  • It is true that it is a complicated site...there are over 6,835,498 articles alone, along with policies, user pages, talk pages, user talk pages, images, and more. Please take the time to figure out how it works before trying to add a new article; you'll save yourself much time.
  • Do make sure to put in the request to change username, or an admin may block you again without further notice to you (and without prior notice to me or anyone else).

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

There is a request for more information from you regarding the name change here.  Frank  |  talk  14:26, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

You asked above if your website would be an appropriate source - it wouldn't because it isn't a "reliable, independent secondary sources." (It's a primary source). You'll need to show significant coverage that establish encyclopedic notability, I would suggest presenting these sources at WP:AFC so someone without a conflict of interest can determine if there should be an article on this subject. –xenotalk 19:04, 26 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your article submission McConkey Insurance & Benefits

edit

Hello GreenAndGold25. It has been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled McConkey Insurance & Benefits.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 22:34, 8 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
