How to ping edit

When you want to ping an editor, you must include that ping in a new statement that is properly signed. When you edit a statement that you previously posted to add a ping, the notification will not be sent. Schazjmd (talk) 16:04, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

User:Schazjmd Thank you. I am constantly trying to improve my editing quality and I really appreciate your feedback. I signed my last ping to you. Did you not receive a notification? I did not edit a statement to add a ping - it was a new statement. Am I misunderstanding something? Thanks again. Iamchinahand (talk) 08:35, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
User:Schazjmd I now see what you were referring to. Thanks again. Iamchinahand (talk) 08:48, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Making comment changes edit

After you have posted on a page and others have replied, you should only edit your comments by using <s>strikeout</s> to remove content and <ins>insert</ins> to add content. Changing your statements after others have responded to the original statement, as you did here, is not appropriate. Please see WP:REDACT for details. Schazjmd (talk) 13:35, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

User:Schazjmd Understood. Thank you for pointing this out. I was just trying not to make a messy AfD even messier. Will not happen again.Iamchinahand (talk) 08:37, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
