Categories again

Please respond As I wrote to you about a month ago, I would like to be able to add categories again. I went to go make an article on a Vic Chesnutt album, but I couldn't do it because I can't add categories. I have also been tagging pages with {{morecat}} rather than adding them myself, which is more of a chore than it's worth sometimes. I do not know what the protocol is for this, but I think it frankly rude that you (apparently?) ignored my request without responding to me. If I am mistaken about this, I apologize, but the impression that I got was that I wrote you with a serious and sincere request and you simply ignored me, which is at the very least not the best method of resolving the matter I raised. Please respond on my talk at your earliest convenience. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 02:22, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Apologies I honestly have no idea how I forgot/did not see your last response to me. As you pointed out, you gave a prompt and reasonable response to my last inquiry. Please excuse me, as I was completely mistaken. What I meant by saying that I could not create new articles is not that there is some technical obstacle to creating them, but that if I make a new article, it will lack appropriate categories. If you want to discuss this in the New Year (as you suggested in the message that I somehow forgot), then I will happily wait for a few days until you have access to discuss this matter. Thanks for both responses. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 22:56, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
You should know That I made this page: List of 2010 This American Life episodes. I cannot imagine that this is controversial. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 19:43, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Category

Addition I have created A Line in the Dirt, which consequently involved me adding two categories to it. It appears that you are still incommunicado, so please let me know when you are back. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 23:55, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Community de-Adminship - finalization poll for the CDA proposal

After tolling up the votes in the revision proposals, it emerged that 5.4 had the most support, but elements of that support remained unclear, and various comments throughout the polls needed consideration.

A finalisation poll (intended, if possible, to be one last poll before finalising the CDA proposal) has been run to;

  • gather opinion on the 'consensus margin' (what percentages, if any, have the most support) and
  • ascertain whether there is support for a 'two-phase' poll at the eventual RfC (not far off now), where CDA will finally be put to the community. Matt Lewis (talk) 01:10, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

One more category

Reasonable I removed Category:Upcoming albums from a released album. Again, this seems entirely uncontroversial. Please post on my talk when you return. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 07:06, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Template

Another I created Template:The Wallflowers, which includes a category. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 00:17, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Merges

Categories I merged two articles here (1 and 2) and here (1), involving some category issues. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 00:50, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

User:Hiding/RFC

Good morning. I reviewed a speedy deletion request on this page. The user discussed has asked that it be deleted under criteria G10, which covers attack pages. I declined, because I don't think it does meet that requirement, and preparation for RFCs and Arbcom requests is a valid use of the userspace. However, I see that you haven't touched the page since December, and I can find no active or recent RFC on Gavin Collins. So, could I ask that you either move forward with whatever you plan to file, or that you copy the list offline and add a {{db-u1}} tag to it? Thanks! User:Koavf

Hello,

A few months ago, you were involved in topic banning User:Koavf for making mass catagory changes without seeking consensus as part of a community sanction. While the circumstances have changed, this user continues a disruptive editing pattern. His rationale is always that a particular template "demands" or "explicitly calls for" whatever changes he is making, and he interprets any attempt at first reaching consensus as rude and uncivil.

Recently he edit warred at Remain in Light, [1], [2]. [3], [4] and was told very solidly on the talk page to first get consensus for such a radical change to a well established article.

Secondly, the user seems to have a fascination with endashes and emdashes, and has edit warred over this on several occasions: He moved an article without consensus, was reverted by an admin, reverted this admin without reaching consensus and finally relented when consensus was reached and the admin undid his reversion. He recently did some "spite editing" ([5]. [6], [7], [8], [9] in response to my comment at the Remain in Light talk page ("User:Koavf has a long history of rigidly adhering to template guidelines to the point of disruption, and should simply be reverted and ignored; if he edit wars, take it to AN/I."). I left a note on his talk page, and the response was predictable. If you'll look at a few of the preceding post to his talk, you'll see that the pattern continues.

Further, he can't be made to understand that it's not always appropriate to include "UK" or "United Kingdom" in infoboxes at articles about UK subjects. The long standing convention has been to include town, county and constituent country (England, Wales, etc.), but not "UK or "United Kingdom", just as one should not presume a UK citizen's "nationality" without a reliable source (as dicussed at WP:UKNATIONALS).

He also undid the formatting of ALL of the infoboxes at all of Beatles' record articles where a lot of time was spent sorting out the clutter of multiple studios and session dates just so he could tag "England, United Kingdom" onto all of the studio locations, citing "Template:Album Infobox", which, of course has no guidline regarding the country or nation where the record was made (eg, [10], [11]).

It's unfortunate that someone with the eagerness and ability to contribute can be so disruptive. I'm asking you to take a closer look at the circumstances and see if more restrictive sanctions aren't appropriate. Radiopathy •talk• 00:08, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the discussion is now at AN/I. Radiopathy •talk• 17:07, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello,

I am informing you that the recent RFC/U regarding Asgardian‎ has been closed, and the case is now at arbitration. AfD nomination of Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:03, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
