January 2018 edit

Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Pray (Sam Smith song). There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Ss112 12:47, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please don't add unsourced material to Wikipedia, including genres. Please read WP:Verifiability. Ss112 13:00, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please read WP:RS for what is a reliable source. Googling "what genre is Pray by Sam Smith" and linking to the result is not a source. Ss112 15:45, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

== January 18 Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page HEK has been reverted.
Your edit here to HEK was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_C-T45EjIYDoRzaVZ1OyfQ) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 16:28, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

What have I done? edit

This is regarding the post that ClueBot NG made on my page. Could you please tell me what I have done wrong? I really like wikipedia and want to keep on editing, but if I violate your rules I cannot, of course. But I am a bit unsure of what I have done wrong. I understand the mistakes about my edit on "Pray (Sam Smith song), but I am very, very confused as to what I have done wrong on the "Bjergsen" article. So could you please tell me, ClueBot NG? (I do realise that ClueBot NG is just a bot, but am I wrong when I say that there are a few real people administrating that bot?) I am truly very sorry, as I take criticism and removal of my edits very seriously.

I hope you understand. Thanks. Hi im gosu (talk) 23:27, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Some times there are false positives with ClueBot, it does leave a link in the edit summaries when reverting where you can report false positives. The only issue with your edits would of been adding a city of birth without a WP:RS (unless another source in article has it already, idk). That's an issue with sourcing though not vandalism. I have nothing to do with managing the bot, just an observation. I wouldn't personally worry too much about it. WikiVirusC(talk) 23:44, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oh, well, okay, thanks. I acually did try to source the birth location, but for some reason it didn't stay...

How do I create an infobox? edit

Hi. I am new to Wikipedia and still have a lot to learn. So if anyone could help it would be very nice :)

I am trying to create a new Wikipedia article for Bjergsen, but on the Danish Wikipedia. On the English Wikipedia, I saw that a person had used "{{Infobox Pro Gaming player" on the Bjergsen article, but that doesn't work for me and I don't know why. So if anyone could explain to me what I should then use as infobox, I would be very grateful. I have tried to use "{{Infobox person", but that didn't work properly, and "{{Infobox sportsperson", but that didn't work properly either. So could someone please help with my small dilemma?

Thanks :)

Easiest way to figure that out is to look at the source on another page on Danish wiki that has an infobox. {{Infoboks}} seems to be the code you want.
Also a place you can go to ask questions where it will be seen easier is The Teahouse where a lot of helpful editors will help you out. Alternatively if you want to ask questions here on your talk page, you can use the template {{help me}} and alert them of your post here. WikiVirusC(talk) 13:42, 14 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Signature edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --David Biddulph (talk) 13:45, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oh, okay, well if that's a must, of course :) Thank you Hi im gosu (talk) 13:51, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

January 2018 edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Bjergsen. Coasterlover1994 18:25, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Coasterlover1994: Could you please clarify why you believe that the edit to which you linked, or any of the others from this editor, meets Wikipedia's definition of vandalism? The only obvious point which I can see is that there is no need for the "reference" in the caption added in this edit, but the rest looks OK at first glance. --David Biddulph (talk) 18:51, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I see that there was also an unintended pipe character at the end of the URL in the Red Bull ref, but that looks to me like an honest mistake rather than deliberate vandalism. --David Biddulph (talk) 18:58, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I restored the edits. Mistake on my part. My apologies. Coasterlover1994 19:21, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@David Biddulph: Yes, that is correct, I would never deliberately vandalise Wikipedia, I have no such intention, trust me.
