Notability and new biographical articles
editHi, Herrigg54. I see that you are actively developing Philippe Guillemard. I just wanted to let you know about Wikipedia's WP:Notability policy, which requires significant coverage in independent, secondary, reliable sources. Of the three sources you have listed currently, in my opinion, none meet this threshold. I see you have an "in use" template on the article, so I hope you are busy finding sources with substantial, independent coverage. Please review Wikipedia:Notability (people) for additional details on policy regarding people. - Okay, looks like you've added lots more sources, while I was writing, so carry on. English Wikipedia has a "Draft" namespace which is a good place to start working on articles, and avoid notability concerns while they are still undergoing development. To do that, simply prefix the article title with
Draft:, like this:Draft:Philippe Guillemard. For your next new article, please use Draft space, until the article meets notability requirements. Thank you. Mathglot (talk) 17:23, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
Attribution is required when you translate articles

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from fr:Philippe Guillemard to Philippe Guillemard. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk pages of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. - Unlike other Wikipedia policies and guidelines which may be ignored under extreme circumstances, the attribution requirement is part of Wikipedia's licensing terms, and the attribution requirement depends on the enforcement of WP:COPYRIGHT and may never be ignored. Please make sure that all of your future translations are properly attributed, and please take a moment now to go over the five articles previously translated, and repair the missing attribution on those articles. Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
