Was möchten Sie tun?

-- Heimkinderverband (talk) 06:23, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Julen Roselló edit

Hello Heimkinderverband,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Julen Roselló for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Deletion discussion about Julen Roselló edit

Hello, Heimkinderverband,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Slatersteven and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Julen Roselló should be deleted. Your comments are welcome over Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Julen Roselló .

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Slatersteven}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

January 2019 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. 331dot (talk) 20:55, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I understand that on the German Wikipedia accounts named for and representing an organization are allowed and encouraged, but here on the English Wikipedia they are not permitted. Your username must indicate you as an individual user. You do not need to use your real name. A name in the format of "Username of Heimkinderverband" would be acceptable. 331dot (talk) 20:56, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

(edit conflict) Full transparency: I made the report at WP:UAA; if this upsets you, please complain to me about making the report. I stumbled upon the username when sorting AfD discussions. The report can be found at Special:Diff/879371685. I am certain that this was bound to happen sooner or earlier, and reporting the issue early may minimize the disruption caused by having to block a good-faith user for operating a role account. The main concern, I believe, is that the account is not permanently bound to one individual. If you were replaced by someone else in your job, you would likely give them control of the "official" account, and that would not be okay. Perhaps this has even happened in the past. To solve the problem, please make clear (by changing the username or creating a second one for enwiki) that this account will permanently be yours, and that it will become permanently inactive if you, as a person, end editing one day. Thanks!   ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:01, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Ok, different Wikipedia project, different rules, this is a new information. This account is a verified one at German Wikipedia. -- Heimkinderverband (talk) 09:28, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I understand. The English Wikipedia does not do that and prefers usernames to represent specific individuals. As you probably do not want to rename this account in order to use this username on the German Wikipedia, you are welcome to create an account for yourself that you can use on the English Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 10:19, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
So in English Wikipedia, an account like "Monty Python" would be considered to be some sort of "Promotional names". An account like John Cleese or Robbie Williams would not be considered to be promotional as it represents one person. -- 84.62.89.133 (talk) 23:28, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes; "Ford Motor Company" or "Microsoft Official" would not be allowed. "Henry Ford" and "Bill Gates" would be allowed if the user is actually those individuals. A name such as "Bill Gates of Microsoft" would be acceptable as a specific person is identified. 331dot (talk) 01:51, 22 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
