Naruto Gekito Ninja TaisenEdit

Just out of curiosity - why did you tag your article Naruto Gekito Ninja Taisen for deletion? It looked like a legit article to me, do you really want it deleted? -Lommer | talk 02:13, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Yes, the reason for me deletion is that it's spelled Gekitou not Gekito. ;) A slipp on my part. Havok 07:36, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Oh, ok. Just so you know, in future you can remedy that yourself by pressing the "move" button at the top of the page. That will move the page and its contents to another title. -Lommer | talk 00:13, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

NarutoEdit

Thanks! I've seen your work, it's great ^_^--JadziaLover 15:33, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

X-MenEdit

Quit screwing with the page. You're now removing material that's had consensus for about a year, without explanation or substantive talk, because it doesn't fit your world-view. Your last comment on the X-Men talk page, commenting that you're gonna revert whatever Claremont may write about it, serves mostly to demonstrate that you don't know who Claremont is and that you therefore shouldn't even be getting involved in the dispute until you read up, more than a little. WoW ChartEdit

Thanks for making the chart I added to World of Warcraft look nicer. I'm not very familiar with doing fancy tables but I felt that block of confusing text needed replacing as soon as possible. --Kevin 23:32, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)

Could you possible take a look at Looting and give your opinions about whether an item recieved as a reward is loot? We are deadlocked at the moment, unfortunately. --Kevin 16:50, Jun 25, 2005 (UTC)

'push here'Edit

Instead of sentences saying, "For more info, push here" like you have been, the accepted proceedure is instead to simply put, "Main article: main article". --InShaneee 22:21, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Thank you, I will remember that for the next time I make an edit like that. Havok 22:22, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright infoEdit

Please add information about the source and copyright status of the Image:Xaviermansion.jpg, which you uploaded, to its description page; otherwise, it may be listed as a copyright violation (see Wikipedia:Copyright and Wikipedia:Images for deletion). Thanks! —Lowellian (talk) 20:17, Jun 26, 2005 (UTC)

I am asking you again to please add information about the source of copyright status of Image:Xaviermansion.jpg to its image description page. Please do so. —Lowellian (talk) June 29, 2005 15:30 (UTC)

Thanks for replying, but could you be more specific than "Promotional material from X-Men Evolution", which could mean anything? Was this an image from the Web (if so, please give the original link)? A scan from an advertisement for the cartoon in a magazine or comic book (if so, please give the magazine or comic book issue)? —Lowellian (talk) June 30, 2005 04:26 (UTC)

Just letting you know that I have deleted the image. —Lowellian (talk) June 30, 2005 21:15 (UTC)

Use of {subarticleof} tagEdit

I decided to put the tag in on all of the pages where I reverted your original reversion. As I have changed my mind about the use of the tag, I do not see a problem with altering my own edits to those articles to remove the use of the tag in advance of any decision to remove the tag generally. GreenReaper 5 July 2005 10:08 (UTC)

Even if you put it there, and removed it because you no longer support it, some people do. Removing it will remove any chance people have of seeing the notice. I would suggest you put it back, or I will. Havok 5 July 2005 12:10 (UTC)
If you, personally, think that it is suitable in its current form, on that page, then you should re-add it. I will not, because I do not think it is the right thing to do, but if you revert it I will leave that alone until the issue is resolved, or until a week has passed, whichever is sooner. But please, ask yourself whether you're just putting the template back in place because you want to get people to come and look at the issue. I don't think that's a good reason to do so. Plenty of people visit that page already for other reasons.
Imagine the template was not on vote for deletions. Is Object Desktop really the main article of WindowBlinds, when it has always been offered separately, and when the WindowBlinds article stands on its own? The reason I put it there in the first place was to balance the link to it from Object Desktop (as the templates were suggested as a pair), but I do not think that was the right decision.
Looking at it, which form do you think the pages that I have changed are better in - with the bold links that show links to several articles, or the link at the top that points people to another page first. Which one reads better to you? More importantly, would you add the {subarticleof} tag if it were not there? I think if you would not add it then, you should not re-add it now.
This is how I think the issue should be decided. If individual contributors believe that it is better to use the bold text, then they will use the bold text. I do not think that forcing everything to freeze until an argument is resolved is the right answer. I do not personally care overmuch whether or not the template is deleted; I just think that there is a better way to show association for these particular articles. Do you think that it is better to use the template? If so, re-add. If not, please do not. GreenReaper 5 July 2005 12:48 (UTC)
Then I would propose an Stardock box, like the one they use for Blizzard games etc. Your take on this idéa, because I'm not that fond of the bold approach. Havok 5 July 2005 15:29 (UTC)
That's a good idea. It separates nicely into product lines, too. Thanks! Will have to look into that when I am not tired (although I am moving to the US in two days, so I could not guarantee an immediate addition). GreenReaper 5 July 2005 16:51 (UTC)

Edit of terrorism pageEdit

Re your edit [1], you appear to have added "humorous" crap to the article. This is in the poorest possible taste. Can you give any reason why you should not be banned forthwith for vandalism? -- Karada 7 July 2005 12:38 (UTC)

Because I didn't write it. Someone removed the part called "Other world leaders" so I was looking for it in History, I found it and forgot to read all the quotes, so that one slipped in. I removed it when I saw it. If you do not believe me, check history and you can see that I did not write it. It was a glip on my part and I am truly sorry. This is the person who added it [2] Havok 7 July 2005 12:44 (UTC)

Reverted your deletion of the Confirmed Games sectionEdit

Just wanted you to know, that I had reverted your edits, based on that IGN and other publications not only list these games, but cite quotes from developers and magazines like Famitsu, who is often a good source for information. -- A Link to the Past 22:10, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Important VFDEdit

Please see the VFD for commons:List of victims of the 1913 Great Lakes storm. This is of vital importance. This list and others like it are being pushed off of the entire Wikimedia project. It started at Wikipedia, where they were VFDd in favor of moving to Wikisource/Commons. Now they are being VFDd off Wikisource (they don't really belong there, since they are not original source texts), with people there saying they should be on WP/Commons, and it is also being VFDd on Commons, where people don't realize that Commons accepts texts (says so right on the Main Page). This will set a precedent for any user-created lists. -- BRIAN0918  22:39, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Your Additions to Maxis pageEdit

I am unconfortable with your comments on The Sims 3 - Maxis has said little to nothing about this game. It probably will feature a new game engine (it is pretty obvious but note Maxis has not said this and most people talking about The Sims 3 on message boards talk about the possibilities of weather and pets rather than a new game engine - so it cannot even be claimed this is commonly expected by fans - but I'm being slightly pedantic here). As for "Maxis will also be working on making the virtual world of The Sims seamless and utilize complete freedom of neighborhood and house construction." these speculative comments I feel are unjustified. I'd like to see "complete freedom of ... construction" but this has never been stated as part of any new game by Maxis and may not arrive in the next version(note many wanted a free camera in Simcity 4 and may have speculated this might come but this was not delivered). As for making the world of The Sims "seamless", again not promised or even suggested by Maxis to my knowledge, this is a area with major problems that may make it undesirable: Imagine a hundred house neighbourhood with all sims moving by A.I while user controls one house or moves between them (not really possible in terms of performance but this game setup could involve a scaling down of current neighbourhoods as the current version allows quite a few houses). Many players would not want to have A.I controlling the rest of their game as they played with some sims. Such problems would be why Maxis, who are planning The Sims 3(they said they start new game development the day after a game is released at least in the cases of The Sims), have not promised or even speculated on The Sims 3. Sorry if I have sounded confrontational (this was not the aim) but I would not wish to remove these comments without first talking to you. What do you think? dpen2000 00:01, 6 August 2005 (UTC) (Please reply on my talk page or alert me of your response on there.)

X-Men 3 moveEdit

Why did you just copy and paste the contents of X3 (film) into X-Men 3 (movie)? AlistairMcMillan 02:52, August 9, 2005 (UTC)

Because when I tried to move the article, it said that an article by that name allready exsisted. I created X-Men 3 (movie) back in June, but then found out X3 (film) existed, so I made the first redirect to the other. Havok 07:37, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
Next time that happens please visit Wikipedia:Requested moves to get an Administrator to move it for you. That way the edit history will be moved with the article content. Right now, if no-one looks to close, it looks like you wrote the entire article with this edit. [3] AlistairMcMillan 08:02, August 9, 2005 (UTC)
Sorry, didn't know. I'll remember that next time. Thanks for pointing it out. Havok 21:53, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

I have moved "X-Men 3 (movie)" to "X-Men 3 (film)" as per the naming convention on films: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(films)

The page "X-Men (movie)" cannot be moved to "X-Men (film)" because that entry already exists, so the move is requested from an Admin. Thanks - Ajshm 15:14, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

Category:InclusionistEdit

Hi Havok!

The bug of not finding yourself in the category was probably caused by adding the category to your userpage before creating the category. I removed the inclusionist template, and immediately readded it. That seemed to fix it. By the way, if you want the category name to appear as a link, instead of putting the page into the category, you should write

:Category:Inclusionist

rather than

.

Hope that helps!

Thanks. I would like to be brutal, but I am too new to make that kind of a call. --Kim Nevelsteen 21:33, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
The problem is that if I start I would erase the entire "general information" section of the external links because they are all pertaining to a local group or advertising for a certain function like fora or radio, etc... There are some pretty big site on the list but it is still just advertising to me. Completely unencyclopedic. The same with the "popular" music list. It is completely subjective. There is not even one cited source. It is like the page is run by a bunch of crazed fans that don't have a clue that this is an encyclopedia. (Considering that rant, I guess it didn't help =) ) --Kim Nevelsteen 21:54, 27 August 2005 (UTC)

I made the pictures using WOWmodelview[4]. What it does is allow you to look at, and interact with, differnt objects/models in WoW. I used Photoshop to compres and save the images and in turn uploaded them to WP. Havok (T/C) 21:35, 27 August 2005 (UTC)

Hi Havok nice work on your Warcraft contributions. I was just having a look through the images you have uploaded. Hi! I just started the Warcraft Wikiportal, and since you seem to do quite a few edits on the Warcraft articles, I was wondering if you would like to help out with the portal? Comics Collaboration of the FortnightEdit

As a member of WikiProject Comics, I thought you might be interested in the Comics Collaboration of the Fortnight we have set up. Please feel free to vote on the articles listed, although bear in mind that a vote for a particular article means you are pledging to help improve the article. Image source/licensing for Image:Apple Mighty Mouse.jpgEdit

The image you uploaded, Image:Apple Mighty Mouse.jpg, has no no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

Tekken Tag Tournament World Record EvidenceEdit

Twin Galaxies is the official, recognized international authority on video game and pinball world records and history (incidentally documented on Wikipedia). I am currently a registered member of Twin Galaxies who has thereto submitted verified evidence of 2 world records for Tekken Tag Tournament and Street Fighter III: Third Strike, both of which were authenticated by the administrative staff thereof. My achievements are posted online at the Twin Galaxies official website located at http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=62 for public scrutiny. Furthermore, Twin Galaxies founder and chief moderator, Mr. Walter Day, and other staff are also available for contact regarding this matter via which homepage. For your convenience, the specific link to my Tekken record is http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=22&pi=2&gi=246&vi=10430 . Thank you.

Then it would be prudent you put a link to the source on the line which you places in the article. No one reading said article will have any point of reference if no link is given. Havok (T/C) 16:32, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

WoW Talent CalculatorEdit

Hi Havok,

Thank you for moderating the WoW page on Wikipedia. I think you're doing a great job.

However, I think this Talent Calculator should be added to the Useful resources section.

Here are some of the comments we received regarding the calculator on the official WoW forums. I gathered the most significant ones for your reading pleasure.

Ooh, I like it. Lots.
 Q u o t e:
Neat, but . . . why? Blizzard's on the web works great :)

Even with a decent speed computer (2.5 ghz), their calculator takes some time to load, and tends to sometimes lag somewhat when clicking buttons.

Overall, this talent calculator seems much cleaner, more efficient, and just better designed.

 • bookmarked*.

- Sabelorn

Why, oh, why couldn't any of the other Talent calculators be this simple?

<3 Thank you for this gift.

- Jackdakatsuj

Mate, you are brilliant! Makes Blizzard look like first year web designers. Of course, paladins make Blizzard look like first year game designers too, but I digress...

Thanks a million.

- Jelleana

IGN's calculator makes the talent mouseover popups appear at the bottom of or "below" my screen. Blizzard's calculator often exhibits a bug where a talent mouseover popup will not "unpop" when it is no longer being moused over, eventually preventing most of the screen underneath from being visible.

Your calculator is fantastic. It works better than the one on IGN or even the one here on Blizzard's own site. I use a Mac and the Safari browser and was simply amazed that your code interacted with my browser perfectly.

Thank you!

You might consider contacting Blizzard and having them link to your site or hiring you to do their calculator for them.

- Covenant

Much TY. This one is so much faster then the Blue one.

- Sunbergal

I'm impressed.

- Appleseed

This is so much better than the Blizzard or IGN ones.

Keep this thread bumped.

- Bloropope

Blizzards talent calculator takes forever to load, i like this one much better...Thanks!

- Catastrophic

mmm 10/10

Very clean, fast and efficient. And right clicking registers right away. Much much faster than others I've tried (wowvault, thottbot, even official WoW ones).

Nice job.

- Bladehunter

It's faster. By like, a LOT.

- Deldinor

Awesome, thanks! I can't get onto the official WOW site at work due to the firewall. No problems with this one, it's faster too hehe.

- Spacecoyotee

It's faster, and the link URL is a lot shorter, making it easier to post it places, especially in sigs. It also loads very quickly, where the main WoW one takes awhile to load.

- Laurael

This is quite good. I like it better than the Blizzard or IGN calculator.

- Raei

I will be updating my stickied post with links to this calculator instead because it is a lot easier to use.

- Zhadow

AJAX FTW!

Good work.

- Muricas

Very very nice. I like being able to rapidly click on a talent and not have to wait for it to update.

- Kilson

Much faster then blizzrds crappy one. Nice job :)

- Aertea

Nice; definitely better than the official one.

- Ciel

best ever, by far! /clap

- Unurthed

BEST TALENT CALCULATOR EVER.

Blizzard needs to learn2talentcaluculator

No really, ORLY, this is much better then blizzards.

- Creme

Congrats Firefox, man this is fast and accurate.

Very good work man, you got mad skillz!

Edit: I like it so much, I am book marking it!

- Maillady

sweet ass calculater.

better hten blizzard's one hehe

Thanks for reading.

Hi, I notice you have a number of fair use images on this page (the World of Warcraft stuff). Displaying fair use images in userspace is not allowed by Wikipedia policy (see Wikipedia:Fair use#Fair use policy), so I'll have to ask you to please remove the images and instead simply link to them (to link to an image insert a colon (:) at the start of the image link ([[:Image:... instead of [[Image:...)). Image Tagging Image:Remy xmen evolution.jpgEdit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Remy xmen evolution.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use GFDL to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Image copyright problem with Image:Deathnote02.jpgEdit

Thanks for uploading Image:Deathnote02.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 14:48, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Death note ryuk.jpgEdit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Death note ryuk.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
