Hi and thank you for your contributions: this topic area definitely needs people who know what they're doing. When adding or removing categories, you can try using WP:HOTCAT: it's a little tool that saves some of the hassle. – Uanfala (talk) 22:25, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Association for Linguistic Typology moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for creating Association for Linguistic Typology. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Reading Beans (talk) 05:36, 23 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for this. I constructed this page on the model of other associations in linguistics (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Linguistic_societies), some of which are clearly less "notable". So I didn't understand what is meant by "it needs more sources to establish notability". I thought the sources were needed for credibility, not for notability. The main source for such associations is their activities, such as journals and conferences. What I could do is add more sources for conferences, e.g. this one for the 2022 conference: https://sites.google.com/view/alt2022/home. Haspelmt (talk) 06:31, 23 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
