Panamanian military

According to several media sources in Panama, when the US invaded Panamá, they didn't came up against the Panamanian Defense Forces, but instead, where here to capture Manuel Noriega which ruled Panama to certainly bad conditions instead of favoring its poor population, he also limited the number of hi class people to him and just a few others. But according to the sources, the invation ended in a tie. With no standing winner.

Since your edits state that "It was no match" in reality... it was, since the US had to use state-of-the-art equipment to invade the country.

It was a temporary measure meant to last no more than 24 hours. Don't worry, I haven't flipped out that much quite yet :) As for this Mmbabies vandal, it seems that his trolling has attracted a little too much attention. Keeping track of suspected IP ranges is one thing, but labeling every IP used is going too far. I understand that, even the vandalism from this IP had a creepy and unsavory flavor to it. This vandal may well have some psychiatric problems, as suggested in the WP:LTA page. However, communicating with the creep, or even showing him the least bit of attention, might only encourage him. It's sad that Wikipedia policy has inadequate protocols for dealing with online harassment and his ISP will do nothing to identify the offender; this vandal is breaking several pretty serious real-world laws. ˉˉ^anetode╦╩ 16:38, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the links. Unless I missed it (and that's entirely possible!), the only that mentions AIV is Wikipedia:Long_term_abuse/SummerThunder, and that mention seems to be regarding vandalism rather that reporting a banned sock. I do know that AIV has a pretty specific use, and banned user or sock reports may be just kicked by an admin, with instructions to take to the suspected sock page or ANI. Re: Defender 911

Sorry for taking some time before replying, I went through his contribs (mostly the visible ones, there is not much of interest in the deleted ones) and didn't want to reply before making up my mind. I don't think Defender 911 "got" Wikipedia, as shown in the tremendous amount of time he spent building a paramilitary-like vandal fighting organization, with him as its head. When he learned H had left, he really went berserk, and started his campaign, which only made things worse for H, who left a bit more than a month ago and definitely didn't want that kind of attention. As I said to someone else, this whole story leaves me a sour taste in my mouth because, contrary to most users, Defender did not mean ill when he started to disrupt the project, and was not as disruptive as some other clueless banned users (User:Tweety21 comes instantly to mind). But on the other hand his immaturity made things worse when he was editing, and I wouldn't feel comfortable with him editing (a bit like an elephant in a porcelain store, if you see what I mean). Ok, now the real answer: Personally I don't support nor oppose the ban. I wouldn't have done it, but respect the other editors opinions. He can request a review of the block by the arbcom (off wiki), or you most can do it (on or off wiki), note that it's best if he is the requesting party but I am not aware of any rule preventing an uninvolved editor to ask the arbcom to review it. -- lucasbfr ^talk 22:56, 18 December 2007 (UTC) `

LTA

You did an excellent job of summarizing the history of this LTA. I stopped tagging IP addresses for this user a while ago, both because of WP:DENY and because it seemed pointless. I've just been blocking the IPs for a medium period (a couple of days to a week), reverting the changes (which often has meant redirecting and protecting a fork), and avoiding recognition or acknowledgement. DY LTA

Thanks :) I'm in a weird situation with that one - I was one of the first two admins on the scene, could immediately recognise an attack on certain pages as a David York one if I saw it, but I didn't actually have much to do with him when he was active and don't actively edit in the areas he rampages in. My original checkuser report and my submission to the community ban proceeding which I think is linked to in some of the documentation, were researched at the time and are probably more useful than anything I can remember now :P Feel free to make use of them for diffs or anything (I don't know how the LTA procedure works so I'll leave that to your judgement). I reverted your addition of the Politics section to the Miami-Dade County section because it was unsourced, contained analysis, and was just plain wrong. Dade county elected exclusively Democrats to congressional, state and local offices well into the 1960s, and has never been 'solidly' Republican. Matteau's Goal

Having just watched the tape of Matteau's goal, I have no idea where you think you see Tikkanen's foot in the crease, but it did not get there until after the puck crossed the line. (And that isn't even what the rules say. He is allowed to be there even before that as long as the puck is in the crease as well.) I am talking frame by frame slow motion and Tikkanen is at least 8 inches away from the crease when the shot is made. And this was from the best possible angle behind the goal. You can clearly see both Matteau's stick shooting the puck and Tikkanen's foot at the same time. And gee...perhaps that is why in 13 years there is not ONE single discussion about this anywhere on the internet or anywhere. You know...because it didn't happen? Could it be that you are a Devil's fan? Bottom line is, that edit has been removed from the Matteau page because it is 100% inaccurate. You might want to learn the rules about being in the crease before editing a Wikipedia page regarding it.

Fischler's book

That book is a tongue in cheek book. He was not serious, and having lived around the NY/NJ area and with many Devil's fans nearby (as well as all Devil's games on cable which has NEVER mentioned any controversy), I can say with 100% confidence that Davils fans do NOT think he was in the crease. (A simply google would show ZERO results of there being any discussions about this goal. that ought to tell you something.) Why? For two very big reasons. 1. Replays are not even slightly ambiguous. Tikkanen's skate is at least 18 inches away from the crease and Matteau's stick is already being drawn back. The puck may not be in yet, but it is DEFINITELY in the crease, which means any player can be there as well. And 2.(This one is a big one...) In the 1993-1994 season, there was NO in the crease rule. Or, more accurately, the interpreation of the rule was different. It was not until two seasons later that they changed the rul to penalize a player for being anywhere near the crease. In 1994 the OFFICIAL rule was hat the play in the crease had to be interfering with the play. (As you have edited other hockey articles, you REALLY should learn about the history of the sport before you do anymore. Anyone with even the slightest memory remembers when they changed the interpretation of that rule because in the first seasons after (1996-1997) it nearly ruined the game as goals were getting disallowed for ridiculous reasons. And anyone editing hockey articles should also know that the rule was officially changed BACK (and replays were no longer allowed for this call) after the infamous Brett Hull goal in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1999.

Let's summarize what you are trying to do. You are claiming that a player broke a rule that DIDN'T exist at the time, even though replays could not possibly be any clearer that even if the rule did exist, he didn't violate them. I will fight you on this. It is 100% inaccurate and you are refering jokes as fact. Have you ever stopped to think that that is why you get turned down for admin status? Reaing your discussions shows that you post a lot of inaccurate stuff and then fight for it. This is one. Your citations need not be fancy to be effective--if you could put in page numbers however you feel like it, even somewhat sloppily, someone else could go in later and fix them up. Of hoaxes and deletions

Greetings Blueboy96. LionEV as shown on Wiki is neither a hoax, nor a fraud, nor is it deceptive in any way. All of the links shown, the outside references, and the companion companies are real, valid, and trading with LionEV on a weekly basis. LionEV on Wiki however has received a high number of vandalism attacks. Why, we are not sure. But, the references are there, our product is there in the real world, so what else can we do?

My only thoughts are that there are some out there who wish to raise the issue of credibility for their own gains. Our listing on Wiki has been adjusted to be as educational as possible, without the marketing aspect. Our goal is to promote electric vehicle conversions, whether the process involves LionEV or not. At this point I am at my wits end. Provide me with some guidance. I cannot deal with graffiti on the Wiki page every day.

Patrolling pages and tagging with CSD

Hi there, thanks for your contributions. In case you didn't know, there is a feature called patrolled pages. After you tag an article for speedy deletion, you should mark it as patrolled so other editors don't waste their time re-reviewing it. You should also fill in the Edit Summary so other Recent Changes patrollers know what the edit was about. Entering 'CSD' or 'db-reason' will suffice (replace reason with the appropriate reason). tagging format

I formatted the speedy on Susan Hubbard for you. In case it gets deleted before you have a chance to see it, the format for copyvio is {{db-copyvio|url=http://www.susanhubbard.com/home.php?p=biography]}} You need the hyphen in general after the db in speedy tags, and the part after the bar has to start with url=. given the copyvio, there's no need to worry about whether its an ad--I wouldnt have deleted it as G11, because it could easily have been rewritten without the puffery. Confused

Vandalism

Also, just noticed.. someone has vandalized the WCYB article.. the former anchor's name is Merrill Moore, not Merrill Snore--the revision was obviously done by someone who did not like Mr. Moore. I did not change it back, although it does need to be changed. Csneed (talk) 02:19, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
