Inalienable/Unalienable

Hi, I notice that you have entered a discussion with Zephram Stark over at Talk:Inalienable rights. Just wanted to let you know that there is very little point in arguing with this person. Examine Talk:United States Declaration of Independence and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unalienable rights, and Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Zephram Stark. "Inalienable" and "Unalienable" are synomyms (as indicated in any dictionary), but this person refuses to believe it, and will not be deflected.--JW1805 00:08, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

Sheehan

Yes, the Sheehan is long(-winded), and not very well written in some parts. But many of us worked hard over a period of many months to get the chronology exactly right, with the thought that future editors might eventually try to obscure what actually happened, as it happened, for example the visitors and when they came (some might say: "nobody supported her")... Your last edit read this way--with no end to the sentence. Anyway, the edit didn't save much space.

Oops. My bad. I do think we should combine those four visits into one line, but I did forget to include a verb. I intended this as a first step in helping to consolidate the entries to keep the meaning while reducing the article length. After all, the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.

I do want to know why we need to have those two entries on the 16th and why we need to put the date for Katrina's landfall in there. I don't see how either adds value to the article.

I am equally concerned that future editors will get the trimming wrong. If it isn't done now, by people who care, someone will eventually just wipe most of the article to say "anti-war activist" and nothing else.

Oh, and the amount of hard work already done doesn't mean future hard work isn't required or useful.--Habap 17:10, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

I've been clear--the chronology was documented, blow by blow, for posterity, a valuable thing, as I don't think anything quite like this exists elsewhere. Where the trimming might be more useful would be in the body of the article itself, with its excruciating detail of statements, counter-statements, etc. Badagnani 13:56, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Actually, the Hurricane Katrina timeline does a better job of describing what happened with Katrina than the entries on Sheehan's timeline. Can you respond to my specific questions about specific date entries? I'll not revert again either. If you feel that that information is beneficial in some way, put it back in. I was concerned because it's unsourced, uses lots of weasel words without making a lot of factual claims, and didn't generally seem to be making encyclopedic statements. • I removed it again, because it's absolutely unencyclopedic to include a completely unsourced rambling about how "some people" think it's elitist and "some people" don't, yadda yadda yadda yadda... Hi there, I don't think I've run into you before, but I just wanted to say thanks for your civilized and helpful comments in Afd. All too often with deletion debates, emotions run high and useful discussion gets put in a corner and forgotten. It gives me hope that Afd can sometimes work when I see people actually thinking and considering arguments instead of just picking a side and rabidly defending it against all logic. You're welcome. Yesterday, I was emotional about it. Then, when walking my dog, I tried to imagine explaining to my girlfriend what I was upset about. That really put things back in perspective. The Military history WikiProject Newsletter Issue I - March 2006
Project news An independent military history peer review has been created for the benefit of the project. A number of articles have already been reviewed, receiving significantly more feedback within the project than they did on the generic peer review page. The project's Collaboration of the Fortnight got off to a great start with Ferdinand Foch and is now focusing on the military history of Spain. Two new task forces—dealing with warfare during classical antiquity and the Middle Ages—have been created. An effort to build a catalogue of high-quality maps for use in military history articles is now underway. The newly-formed translation department is looking for volunteers to help with translating featured articles from other-language Wikipedias.	From the Coordinators Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Military history WikiProject's newsletter! We hope that this new format will help members—especially those who may be unable to keep up with some of the rapid developments that tend to occur—find new groups and programs within the project that they may wish to participate in. Please consider this inital issue to be a prototype; as always, any comments and suggestions are quite welcome, and will help us improve the newsletter in the coming months. Current proposals Proposed guidelines for categories of military people are currently being discussed. A number of issues have already been resolved, but the proposed scheme is still in draft form and further input would be very welcome.

Regarding Sollog article

Before you revert, can you please explain the reason on the talk page. I am willing to discuss this issue, but it appears you are reverting me out of spite rather than any particular need or desire for Sollog's birthdate to appear in the article. Is there a reason why we should ignore the guidelines for conduct outlined at WP:BLP? Vivaldi 21:03, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Squamish, BC

Good work keeping racist material off the Squamish, British Columbia article. I think that the editor in question (along with User:207.81.122.3) is a sock of banned user User:HD_123321 (interestingly, he lists "Q Romenov" as one of his enemies).  Well at least you are a soldier of christ, or at least your education came from a holy instution.

Just because I only said he was religious, that does not mean I do not know he is a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Canada, he has routes in the united (note the uncapitalized "u") church. He attends East Gate Alliance in Ottowa. I am a member of the Conservative Party of Canada and a Christian I know what he is. There is a reason he says the very wonderful saying that he says: "GOD BLESS CANADA" and I would add "and no place elese" just kidding about the no place elese part.

Edwardo, I had assumed from your original post on the PMs talk page that you wondered what his religion was. Reviewing the archive, I see that was not the case. My apologies for assuming incorrectly.

The Christian radical right in the United States apparently uses that tag-line: "God Bless America, and no place else", which Chris Rock had his Republican opponent use in his movie "Head of State". Rock retorted with "You say 'God bless America, and no place else'. How about 'God bless America, and everywhere else'?" Count me in with Chris Rock on that one. I completly agree with you on the GOD bless thing. You do not seem as bad I thought you were, but you still seem a tad bit liberal. Camp summit by the way is nothing I drove by it today, guess what I saw? two dinky buildings and a portable beside the Easter Seal camp.

Edwardo, true, I do have some liberal in me. I am what they used to call a Southern Democrat - I tend to vote Democratic, but am very pro-military. As I get older, I also tend to dislike paying higher taxes even more. I'm indifferent to people's religion and skin color - it's all in how they act. Someone who puts in an honest day's work, respects others and sticks to a moral code (usually one learned in church!) is good by me, regardless of the rest. There are people of every race, religion and ethnicity who succeed in that and also that fail in that. People are people. --Habap 12:21, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
