Names for whitelist

edit
Done, thanks. ((1 == 2) ? (('Stop') : ('Go')) 06:12, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done, thanks. ((1 == 2) ? (('Stop') : ('Go')) 15:24, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Someone added it. I think it should be whitelisted, better to let the bot miss names than get false positives. ((1 == 2) ? (('Stop') : ('Go')) 04:20, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ah yes... I remember reading about that. I'll do it right now. Grandmasterka 21:15, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good ones thanks. ((1 == 2) ? (('Stop') : ('Go')) 01:56, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good, we need all the names we can find. ((1 == 2) ? (('Stop') : ('Go')) 14:41, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I removed the last letter to get both spellings. ((1 == 2) ? (('Stop') : ('Go')) 04:56, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Added. ((1 == 2) ? (('Stop') : ('Go')) 04:56, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ding. ((1 == 2) ? (('Stop') : ('Go')) 04:28, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hate is not on the blacklist, so whitelisting it would have no effect. 1 != 2 07:49, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, that's what the report on the bot bit of UAA said was the problem... or I might have been half-asleep... I'll investigate. SamBC(talk) 19:03, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, here we are: [1] shows the report. SamBC(talk) 19:14, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, not sure how I missed that, I thought it was not there in the blacklist, but it was. I removed it as there is a list longer than my arm with the four letters h,a,t,e next to each other. Please discuss if you disagree. (1 == 2)Until 14:50, 19 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Removal of redundant entry

edit

"sparse" seems redundant, since "parse" should catch it. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 09:52, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please remove the word "Pass" from the whitelist

edit

{{editprotected}} Please remove the word "Pass" from the whitelist. It made my name slip past the bot, dispite containing the blacklisted word "Poop". The bot won't catch Poopass (talk) 06:24, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Have you considered the level of false positives that would be added if "pass" was not whitelisted? Chillum 13:08, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
"Pass" was probably added for a reason. It should probably not be removed without some discussion, so deactivating request for now. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:45, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Poopass likely got through by the software accepting overlapping substrings. I thought that it was meant to catch cases where the blacklisted substring is INSIDE the whitelisted substring, for example "nazi" in "ashkenazi". Should this bit of the software be reprogrammed? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 17:01, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
No big deal. The bot was never designed to catch every bad name. Chillum (Need help? Ask me) 17:02, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Suggestion

edit
scrapper

(getting caught by crapper) King of 00:15, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Since there is no opposition, I'm adding it to the whitelist. (On second thought, "scrapping" and "scrapped" also get caught, so might as well make it "scrap.") -- King of 19:58, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Gizmo/Gismo

edit
  • What percentage of these are false positives? This may involve the blacklist as well, as usernames like "Gism on the bay" or "Gism of life" (neither with spaces) would still be considered rude. This may eliminate many false positives, but not falses like "Gismo freak" or "Gismo neutron". mechamind90 03:42, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
