Please help me with...the following: the German entry for Henning Scheich features an image (filename "Der Mediziner und Naturkundler Prof. Dr. Scheich") that I uploaded there and that is mine. I repeatedly tried to insert it here, but this failed. Apparently one cannot upload a file that has already been uploaded. I cannot see where and how I could otherwise insert the already-uploaded file. Please advise. Thank you very much!

- I understand that you are frustrated, but you'll need to answer several questions before we'll know how to help you.
- The photo image of a painted portrait of Scheich has been uploaded to de-wiki but not to Wikimedia Commons. The latter location is the appropriate place to upload content that is intended to be shared across multiple projects.
- You claim the image as "mine" but that doesn't completely explain the situation. Are you saying you painted the portrait, that you own the portrait but it was painted by someone else, or are you saying you took the photo of the portrait? Commons has strict rules about copyright, and depending on which of these situations applies, you may or may not be able to upload the image to Commons.
- If you are getting a specific error message when you attempt to upload the photo, reproducing the message here might be significant in diagnosing your problem. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 16:55, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your answer and query for specifying the problem.
The portrait was painted by Michael Emig; the photo was taken by Reinhard Blumentstein. I bought the painting as well as the photo, including all copyright.
Thanks for letting me know how to proceed. In case you are willing and able to do what it takes to get the paintings image also towards the en-wiki (or Commons), feel free to do so.
