Page protection edit

Please request page protection at WP:RFPP, not WP:AIV. Thanks. KillerChihuahua?!? 17:33, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

No problem, we were all new once.
Your post on my page was perfect except for one teeny thing - please place new posts at the end of the page not the top - thanks much! KillerChihuahua?!? 17:38, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Doh, nearly had it! Grandwazir 17:39, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hey, you put in a section header, a heading which made sense, and signed with four tildes - I am happy. KillerChihuahua?!? 17:49, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Misunderstanding edit

I think there was a bit of a misunderstanding yesterday with all the vandalism of the Radio 1 pages. I would kindly ask if you could have another look at my edits from yesterday, and perhaps remove the vandalism message from my talk page. Thank you for your time; I'm aware you were just trying to stop the vandals. I apologise for any inconvenience or offence caused. Bodil 08:41, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yup sorry I made a mistake, I've explained why on your talk page. No harm done I hope. :-) Grandwazir 13:07, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good work! edit

Hey there. Just wanted to commend you on your constant work tagging articles for speedy deletion.

(Although I thought Grand Viziers would invariably become corrupt and try to kill the hero, only to be slain by him in return?) DS 14:18, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the nice comment! It is a small job that needs to be done, I still can't believe how much rubbish people try to add everyday.
I'm not too sure I under stand the comment about Grand Vizers to be honest, I coined the name from a Terry Prachett book but I forget which one off hand. Grandwazir 14:22, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tamestorm edit

G'day Grandwazir,

the reason I removed the tag is that the reason it provided — article about a real person that doesn't assert significance — is incorrect. The article isn't about a real person. Articles like this need to be nominated on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion if you want them deleted. The version that User:Sam Korn deleted earlier was much shorter than the one you tagged. Hope this helps, fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 02:17, 20 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pretty much. There's a list of reasons for speedying at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. Cheers, fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 05:17, 20 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Deleted article edit

The trouble was that the article didn't say what it was really about, and didn't make too much sense even with the extra information about its subject. In fact I've dealt with that set of articles before, and should have recognised the reference; if it were replaced, I think that I'd want either to merge it with some other article or AfD it (at the very least it would need serious rewriting). --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:18, 20 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Regarding WP:CN/sockpuppet allegations edit

Hi. A sockpuppet is a secondary account created by another user, for various reasons (often vandalism). You should probably just ignore him for the time being, seeing that he's insinuated that others are sockpuppets as well, and contact an admin either directly, or via WP:ANI. Good luck! Pratchett edit

It was Interesting Times, I believe. "Everyone knows that Grand Viziers are always total and utter bastards." DS 04:01, 21 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jalpo edit

Hi Grandwazir, thanks for the message. Everything Geir Smith writes is original research, nearly incomprehensible and usually false or misleading. He is pretty forthcoming about the fact that he has an agenda of publishing original research on wikipedia. I can't revert his edits fast enough, and he's been driving me crazy. Sylvain1972 16:05, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

If you have the patience to wade into some rather esoteric stuff, there is an article here about the matter: http://www.tibet.com/dholgyal/shugden-origins.html by Georges Dreyfus, a leading scholar of Tibetan Buddhism at Williams College. Here is a fountain of Geir's ramblings: http://geirsmith.org/. I haven't had the energy to wade into the Jalpo article because its all I can do to fend him off of the articles that I've contributed to. I wish there was some way to ban him from wikipedia altogether because he's a total crackpot.

ThereIsNoRadio edit

Thanks for your input and actually joining the discussion on this afd. I took your advice but it just didn't work out. I understand now a lot more about afd and its role in becoming an admin. I also now understand a lot more about wikipedia's general attitude towards internet radio. Thanks again for your help. Randomgenius 09:02, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Barrymoremugshot.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Barrymoremugshot.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:37, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use disputed for Image:TFF Band.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:TFF Band.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. High on a tree 12:12, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Claire Kelley (C).jpg edit

The file File:Claire Kelley (C).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused image of unsuccessful political candidate

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 08:39, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
