Yes she has! and she's not alone!

Barry Jones (former Australian State and Australian Federal Politician) AO, FAA, FASSA, FAHA, FTSE, FACE, broke his silence in 2002 at the launch of Richards book, The Hanged Man. Mr Jones is a lawyer, social activist, quiz champion and a writer. For 35 years, Mr Jones was a member of the Victorian and Federal Parliaments and refused to comment publically on Ryan’s hanging. Mr Jones was the Secretary of the Victorian Anti-Hanging Committee and believes Ryan’s hanging was an attempt by then Victorian Premier Henry Bolte to push his law and order agenda.

Mr Jones says he remains unsure of whether Ryan ever pulled the trigger. "It seemed to me that there was probably a reasonable doubt in the case," Mr Jones said. The fight continues to have Ronald Ryan's murder conviction overturned, because there is no evidence and because Ryan was hanged just seven days before the Privy Council was to hand down its decision.

The above news information can be found in the Herald Sun (Fight to clear Ronald Ryan's name continues) June 8, 2012.

If the truth hurts, this news item from the Herald Sun newspaper will be deleted by you!

Demographics of Australia edit

Thanks, I fixed my error in Energy in Australia. I feel embarrassed of this error, but glad for your help in the discussion Talk:Demographics of Australia. I understood the numbers did not fit. But in my opinion the population growth in Australia is high with correct numbers as well. You may have interest also in my Template:World population 1990-2025. I am concerned of the World population growth, since we hit the 7 billion people in October 2011. It seems for me that the governments do not recognize the problem. It would be easier now than in 2030.40. You may have interest in: Template:World population 1990-2025. I continue the discussion on the main page. The Deletion of the Jonathan Kern page edit

Hi Generic Bob,

I have a comment on the comments you and "Youreallycan" made regarding the deletion of the "Jonathan Kern" page I created. Since the page was deleted and the comment page archived, I am no longer able to write there.

I have included both of your comments below for reference, as you responded to Youreallycan's comment. I can't comment to Youreallycan's talk page because the page no longer exists.

"Yes, uncited but you know that the basic detail of the career section is factual don't you Elizabeth? That, Kern has built a successful design business Shellshock Designs Ltd. - do you have any knowledge of that, or do you dispute that? As a person that has been in multiple legal cases against the subject of this article to be seen to be attempting to remove details you know are factual would appear strange.Youreallycan (talk) 19:52, 3 December 2011 (UTC) I think it's appropriate to mention Kern's involvement in Shellshock (with "successful" if that can be cited), but as written, the section reads like advertising copy - even if true, even without Kern's other history, most of the section doesn't look to get meet notability criteria. Shellshock gets a lot of Google hits but it's not clear to me how much of that is independent coverage as opposed to self-promo & directory listings. If the article is kept, the section should probably be pruned down to about one sentence, unless notability can be established. --GenericBob (talk) 00:35, 4 December 2011 (UTC)"

I believe the basic thrust of both of your comments is that how could I possibly dispute that Jonathan Kern's business, ShellShock Designs is successful, correct? I've done my homework so I can state that Kern is merely a sales representative for the factory in China which produces the items he sells on his website. He does not own the factory in China as stated on his website, and the majority of the projects he lists on his website are not his. I was contacted by the owner of a factory in China (not the one which is presently listed on the ShellShock Designs website) who stated that Kern had obtained photos of his projects and his factory through false pretenses, then posted them on his own website stating they were his projects. I was also contacted by a potential client of ShellShock Design's who became suspicious of Kern and his business after Kern repeatedly called him over the course of a few days to inquire when he was going to wire Kern money. I was contacted by the owner of an Interior Design business in London who complained that Kern had harrassed her about obtaining another order from her after she had placed a small order with ShellShock Designs. I also studied Shellshock Designs Financial Reports for the past few years, which are public record. Last year ShellShock Designs had a net profit of the equivalent of approximately $30,000. Not exactly what you would expect by looking at the website, is it?

I am really quite surprised at how easily you editors believed the information which was listed in the career section which was recently added. Even if you didn't believe all that was written, you were taken in by it, and assumed that at least some of it was true.

I don't have a personal vendetta against Kern which was stated by at least one editor. However, since I am periodically contacted by people around the world who continue to inform me of Kern's present business practices, I feel it's important to continue informing others about him. Bob, Wikipedia says that we should sign, not that we have to. I informed HiLo48 of this and asked him/her to stop. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.40.144.198 (talk) 02:03, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you're not doing something that you've been repeatedly told you should do... you can expect that people will continue asking you to do it. Not signing your messages is annoying to other users, and I'm not clear why you're so resistant to the idea - it's easy to do. --GenericBob (talk) 11:09, 7 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Demographics of Australia colouring edit

The IPs must know something we don't. The french IP who added the table included colour when the table was first added,[1] and again, and yet again, but there has never been any indication of what this colouring is supposed to mean. --AussieLegend (talk) 09:33, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

If I had to guess, maybe blue is meant to be for fertility above replacement rate (needs to be a bit higher than 2.0 to allow for women who die before the end of reproductive age). But I don't know how relevant 'replacement rate' really is in a country where so much of our population comes from migration --GenericBob (talk) 10:23, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Giffard LeQuesne Martel edit

'LeQuesne' in the Giffard LeQuesne Martel article's title should be 'Le Quesne'. Maybe, it should be corrected. Yet again, maybe it doesn't matter. Helmut Lange edit

On 12th April 1969, prison warden Helmut Lange committed suicide whilst on duty in a watchtower at Pentridge Prison; he shot himself with a prison-authorised rifle. There was no note to be found, but friends of Lange indicated he had been deeply troubled since the execution of Ronald Ryan and had earlier refused to attend a ceremony relating to a bravery commendation arising from the events of the Ryan / Walker escape.

The above comment was taken from an article by Philip Opas but this is just an example of Opas changing the facts to suit his narrative. Lange ,(Benny as he was known to his fellow wardens) used a prison pistol to shoot himself in the head. He left two notes, one to his estranged wife (unknown contents) an the other to the OIC Les Coleman.

Exacts from the Coroners hearing edit

Evidence from Chief prison officer Leslie Coleman.

Soon before 5 pm on Saturday April 12, 1969, Lange reported to the J division dormitory office, which fronts the cell dormitory containing prisoners of J division. Coleman recalled "I told him there were 20 prisoners in each dormitory." Lange replied "you have filled the empty beds?"

Coleman said Lange was to have been on duty from 4.45 pm. until midnight, locked in the cell block alone with the prisoners.

He knew that Lange had being having personal problems so he asked him "How are things at Home? How is your wife?" Lange replied "Good oh she will be returning home on Tuesday."

Coleman handed Lange the keys to the block. The three other warders, Prison officers V. Friend, J. Hewlett and K. Small, who were on duty with Coleman had already left. Lange closed the gate, locked it, and passed the keys through the bars to Coleman Coleman said " Goodnight Ben" Lange replied " Goodnight, I‘ll see you in the morning." (Ben was the name Lange was known by his gaol colleagues.) A few minutes later as Coleman and the other three warders walked towards the main gate of the prison a shot rang out.

Coleman and the others sprinted back to J Division, Coleman in the lead.

Coleman told the coroner, I saw Lange on his back in the middle of the muster room with his feet towards the entrance and his head towards the office. Blood was flowing in spurts from the left side of his forehead. His pistol was about three feet away on his left side. We all went in and saw that we could do nothing. Coleman said I used the public address system to order the prisoners, who were standing at windows, back to bed.

He then called the switchboard for the police and the ambulance, while the other warders laid a blanket over Lange’s body.

In court, Coleman emphasised that nothing had been disturbed, except for laying of a blanket over Lange.

He said I heard somebody say “Nothing can be done” and it was about then that someone else said, “ There’s a letter here for you and one for Lange, or is that Mrs Lange?

Coleman said the letter addressed to him was opened in the presence of Detective P. McDonnell of Brunwick CIB. The letter tendered to the coroner read.

Dear Les
I’m sorry it had to end this way. Please do me one last favour and notify my wife. She is at present working at the Hofbraehause 18-14 Market Lane Phone no. 633 1229. Ask for Elizabeth Give her my letter. Advise her in regard to my pay as well as super. Get her to ask for a "lump sum.”
This will enable her to pay the house as well as the debts. She is then in a position to sell the house and return to Germany and her mother. For myself I wish to be cremated if it isn’t too expensive. Springvale. Please ask Rev Frowley to be so kind as to say a few words for me. By writing the word Springvale I can’t help thinking about George. All the time I kept asking myself if I couldn’t have saved his life by jumping the gun. Let’s hope I found out where I’m going.

Well Les, I’m sorry to inconvenience you by taking this step, but as you know the old saying. “You can’t jump over your shadow.” Lets say there is no other way out. Mind you there are always some wise guys who come afterwards with bright ideas, like they came with George, but my answer is: Your shadow. Your Nature.

I better close now. Funny how many thoughts enter your mind when you start writing. So I better say goodbye Les. Please give my best wishes to everyone who can spare a thought for me.

I wish to thank everyone for the help they gave me, as well as confidence to carry out my job in the Prison Department. Let’s say thanks and good luck in your future.
Thanks Les - Ben.

Coleman told the coroner that on April 2 Lange had told him "My wife had left me."

April 12 was the first time Lange had been armed and alone on duty since the conversation about his wife leaving him.

Chief Prison Officer Les Coleman told the coroner that Lange had received a letter of commendation for his actions during the Ryan and Walker escape.

Coleman said Lange was not keen to receive the commendation and had no desire to attend the investiture at Government house.

Coleman said he had told Lange that it was right and proper for him to attend the investiture and receive his award.

Lange had said later that he had been ordered to attend and wear his medals. He said he would take sick leave and then he could not be forced to go to Government House.

Coleman recalled that Lange had said. "It is not my fault that I was in the German army, and I’m not going to insult the Queen who I am now in allegiance with."

He had not attended the investiture and had been given his letter of commendation at Pentridge later.

At one stage he said to Coleman "Going to Government House and getting a certificate is not going to George back."

'Yet Opas never acknowledged the existence of this letter (I think I know why.)'Purrum (talk) 00:23, 23 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

...... and the citation to this court 'exact' is ?????
Neither did the police, prosecutors, prison officials or the media ever acknowledge the existence of this letter (I think I know why too!) [2]
