Speedy deletion nomination of Marcel Herrmann Telles edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Marcel Herrmann Telles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Edits to Hawking radiation and elsewhere edit

I realize you're acting with the best of intentions, but please stop using cut-and-paste or "subst" to copy templates/sidebars into articles. The correct way to do this is to just include them with curly-braces (e.g. {{general relativity}}, for what you appear to have tried to do at Hawking radiation). --Christopher Thomas (talk) 21:56, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

New picture of John Archibald Wheeler edit

Hi, I noticed that you uploaded a new photograph to the John Archibald Wheeler article. I like the new picture, it is much better than the old one, but it has a major issue: it is not clear if we're allowed to host this image on Wikipedia, that is, who holds the copyright and if they published the image under a suitable license. This page strongly suggests that the copyright is owned by Associated Press, and that it may not be freely used without asking them. In contrast to that, you wrote here that the picture is in the public domain. If you are sure that the image is really in the public domain, or published under a license that allows use on Wikipedia, please explain why you are sure. If not, then we should not use the image for now.

Please note that this is not a matter of personal taste or any obscure Wikipedia rules. If the image doesn't have the right license, it's simply illegal to use it. You're more than welcome to upload another image, as I said, I like the one you found, but it has to be one that's legal to use.

Another tip: When you make an edit to Wikipedia, please write a short explanation in the Edit summary field, something like "Fixed typo" or "Added link", depending on what you did. This is particulary important if you undo an edit of another user, you should then explain why you do that, so other people can understand what's happening. If in doubt, you can always use an article's talk page to ask questions or to explain what you did.

Best wishes and happy editing! — HHHIPPO 23:18, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

You might find Help:Edit summary a more useful introduction to edit summaries. RockMagnetist (talk) 23:34, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Oops, yes, that's what I meant. Funny redirect though. — HHHIPPO 23:41, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

August 2012 edit

Hello, I'm DVdm. This might not have been intentional, but I noticed that you recently removed some content from Physics without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, (Referring to this edit) - DVdm (talk) 11:26, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Edit summaries please edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please make sure to include an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! - DVdm (talk) 15:11, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:30, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Citing sources edit

Hi Gdrg22,

I just reverted a clearly inaccurate edit. Please cite sources when adding information to articles.

Please comment edit

Hi again. I think it would be good if you could comment on this thread. It might be a mere coincidence that all the scientists you have recently 'downgraded' (their names removed from templates and articles etc.) are Jewish, but without any further comments it can easily appear as a systematic bias. You can best avoid that impression by carefully explaining such edits in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. There's also some other issues discussed in that thread, which might be interesting for you. And please, read the message from SineBot above. Thanks a lot! — HHHIPPO 15:27, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
