License tagging for Image:GaryMokotoffOfficial.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:GaryMokotoffOfficial.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:10, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Heads up edit

I reverted your edits to Mormonism and Judaism. Though I thought it was generally to good addition to the article, to make it NPOV it should be accompanied with a reference from a reputable source that desclares it anti-Semitic or just delete that sentence. Also, the LDS Church's position is different from that of a individual leader or member. You would therefore need to remove language that accusses the Church of being anti-Semitic, but accuse the member. Does that make sense? Cheers. --Storm Rider (talk) 14:23, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello Gary, sorry to take so long in getting back to you, I have been off line for a few days. When we talk about a reference for statements we are allowed only to state what is being said. In this case, we would need another reference that identified the statements as being anti-Semitic. You supplied a reference for the actual statement, but your objective is to qualify the statement, which Wikipedia by itself cannot do.
When it comes to controversial allegations or statements we must always use reputable references and must not put Wikipedia in the position of make a declaration or statement. Does that make sense to you?--Storm Rider (talk) 20:33, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Association of Jewish Book Publishers edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Association of Jewish Book Publishers, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.avotaynu.com/ajbp.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. I have blanked Association of Jewish Book Publishers pending confirmation that you did in fact write the original page. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and follow the steps listed there. VernoWhitney (talk) 14:18, 27 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Paulette Cooper.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Paulette Cooper.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sreejith K (talk) 06:31, 31 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Malcolm Henry Stern edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Draft:Malcolm Henry Stern, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://americanjewisharchives.org/publications/fajf/about.php.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Speedy deletion nomination of Association of Jewish Book Publishers edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Association of Jewish Book Publishers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
