Soave enterprises edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Soave enterprises, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.anthonysoave.com. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. The article Soave enterprises has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:09, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The article Soave Enterprises has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. • It's because you insist on including promotional/laudatory language like the following, which indicates that you're just trying to advertise these businesses:

"Tony Soave has built a diverse organization including businesses in Real Estate with luxury properties including Moraya Bay Beach Towers, in Beverage Distribution including Kalamazoo Beer Distributing, in Automotive Dealerships including Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City, in Metals Recycling including Zalev Brothers, Co. and in other Diversified Holdings in areas such as Industrial Services, Transportation and Hydroponics Technology including Great Northern Hydroponics.

Also, most of your references are to Soave's own website and press releases. You really need to carefully read WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM. Arguably, Soave Enterprises is notable, and if you could write a neutral article that simply describes what the company does (and cites to external sources), and avoids the "Tony Soave is such a wonderful and beneficent business leader" tone, then it'd probably stick. You don't seem to be able to do that, which leads me to believe that you are Mr. Soave or are working for him. See WP:COI. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:33, 10 August 2008 (UTC) __________________________________________ Thanks for this help! It is not my intention to use promotional/laudatory language and in fact my goal is to complete this list. This is great feedback, I hope that I can make it stick now. However, there are some grey areas as indicated with my other questions.Reply

I just simply started with Soave Enterprises because I live in Detroit and had just read a business article on them. I will certainly leave out the references that are on a companies own website but Forbes will certainly provides notability. Arguably, there is not a "Tony Soave is such a wonderful and beneficent business leader" tone, just facts like a.) Tony Soave is the original owner/founder/leader of Soave Enterprises and b.) As it's leader, Tony has grown/built a diverse billion dollar holding company in many areas. They (Soave Enterprises/Tony Soave) didn't start out with all of these holdings in 1961 and this type of "language" is clearly used in other company articles.

I will seek for help again from an experienced user with reference to this talk. Thanks.

Response edit

I don't do formal adoption, but I can offer some advice. Your first step is to decide whether this company meets the notability criteria. To do that, search for reliable sources. A notable business will be the subject of articles describing how it's important in its field- articles in business journals and newspapers, most especially. Avoid using the company's own materials; the article you write should rely on the information you can get from those independent sources. If you can't find independent sources, or if those sources are little blurbs that don't have the scope you need to really describe what makes the company significant, then that means that the company just doesn't meet the notability criteria. No big deal; most companies don't. If the company DOES meet the criteria, then you can use the sources you found to write about its history and its significance, making sure to cite the sources and keep your information neutral and verifiable. I'm a big fan of using featured articles as models for new articles; it can help to see how a good article looks. I found articles about Oliver Typewriter Company, Bank of China (Hong Kong), and BAE Systems that seemed to be good examples of articles about a specific business. WP:FIRST is a pretty good source of advice for beginners about writing good articles, and has links to specifics of citation and style. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 21:59, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

adoption offer edit

I am willing to adopt you. Contact me on my talk page and let me know what you decide. :) Burner0718 03:15, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Glad to see you accepted my offer. Please sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). I would say all of those are reliable sources. The Manual of Style offers more detail than I could ever give about writing an article. You can incorporate the links content into the article but you have to reword it to avoid copyright violations. On another note, I just copied the contents of Soave Enterprises to User:Freshmenz/Soave Enterprises, only without the tags. Should it get deleted in main space, We can work on it in your userspace and then move it when we're ready. I've done this before with Antonio Henton. If you have anymore questions, feel free to let me know. Burner0718 Jibba Jabba! 02:57, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of CigarFox.com edit

A tag has been placed on CigarFox.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Non-dropframe (talk) 05:03, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Once again, you're posting an article on a nonnotable company; the sources you've referenced are either PR releases or discuss subjects other than the company itself. Furthermore, from your pattern of edits, I'm guessing that you're a PR firm that's paid to place articles on Wikipedia about your clients. Is this correct? Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cigarfox.com_logo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cigarfox.com_logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 02:53, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

reply edit

First off, yes you're still my adoptee. With any article you create, I'd suggest you put the name like this, "User:Freshmenz/article name", until you can build it up. Honestly, I've never heard of any of those things (CigarFox.com, JR Cigars or Ice Records) but it appears they all promote somewhat. As long as they stay within WP:SOAP, I really don't see a problem with any of them, I don't really get into this area of policy too much though so I can't help much more than this on this particular subject. As for NawlinWiki working for the City of New Orleans or Mayor Nagin, despite living in New Orleans myself, I haven't met NawlinWiki in real life so I wouldn't know whether or not he works for either of the two. I hope this helps and Cheers! Burner0718 Wutsapnin? 21:49, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

File:Tony-soave.jpg edit

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Tony-soave.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 20:59, 25 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
