Gretl

edit

Someone raised the issue of your "canvassing" for Gretl,[1] [2] at WP:ANI#Odd Canvassing. Since Wikipedia is meant only to be an encyclopedia, that's distracting; as someone said, we're not Monster.com. If you'd like to briefly note on your userpage that your programming team could use volunteers, I think that would be fine (see WP:USERPAGE for more info). But please don't leave these invitations on other user's talk pages. ··coelacan 22:57, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of IASE

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article IASE, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. PhpGedView

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. --Ronz (talk) 17:42, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

GEDCOM

edit

My first reaction to your addition of GEDCOM here was: "That's a good idea!" However, a gedcom isn't software but just a text file. I'm leaving it there, but it may not last... - Hordaland (talk) 11:22, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edit to the Hercules article

edit

I call your attention to the discussion section I just added to the talk page for Hercules emulator. Please do not re-add that page to the "free software" categories without discussing the change there. Thanks. -- Jay Maynard (talk) 09:03, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image Studio Lite AFC Page Needs Review

edit

Hello Free Software Knight,

Your contributions to the ImageJ wiki page made me think you would be the right person to contact about this question.

Would you please review the Image Studio Lite article I have submitted to the wiki Articles for Creation? Image Studio lite is free image processing software offered by my company (see my user page) for analyzing Western blots, gels, etc. Your knowledge of ImageJ and focus on free software seem to indicate that you would be a great person to give feedback on this article.

I would appreciate any help you can offer. Please let me know if you have questions.

Thanks,

-- Sam at LI-COR (talk) 15:44, 10 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
