Onandjaba village

Onandjaba is a village in Omusati Region at the central part of Okalongo constituency 60 KM from Oshakati. The Onandjaba village has about 10 000 people mostly oshimbandja speaking inhabitants, which was part of Oukwanyama Traditional Authority up to the early nineties. Between 2008 an 2009 Onandjaba was renowned as a great producer of Mahangu and had been grain basket for most Northern Namibia.Most of the traditional leaders in Onandjaba are familiarize themselves with acts such as the Combating of Rape act, the Combating of Domestic Violence act and Maintenance act. Onandjaba is one of the top 5 village that prevent crime in Okalongo distinct.

Onandjaba features a secondary school, which is named after Haudano, the first man who had built a house in Okalongo.Onandjaba is birthplace of the late Deputy inspector General of Namibian Police General Tuweefeni Junias Mulukeni. Onandjaba residence have proposed of the the new shopping complex, which will include well know stores that are abroad and local in Namibia such as Pep, Style and Shoprite. However workers are still under construction, this shopping mall is expected to be finished by early next year between March and April.
