Tallest float

• Which was the tallest float? According to the LA Times, the tallest float was the 62 feet Honda's clown float. It was published in last Sunday's paper. Ucla90024 (talk) 16:30, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
  • If memory serves, the Tower of Terror float ("A Sudden Drop in Pitch") was 100 feet tall. I'm not sure, but I think even JPL's float a couple years ago was taller than 62 feet. That same ad section also got last year's theme wrong (it was Passport to the World's Celebrations, not just Passport to the World) so it clearly wasn't fact-checked all that well. 216.103.50.52 (talk) 05:34, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Unfortunately, it's not done. It's technically possible, but only the developers can do it, and they have a backlog of bigger things to do. @Magioladitis: thanks for that -- I've been working through various CS1 errors (particularly dates), but it's good to know about this more comprehensive list of ISSN errors. It apparently hasn't been fully cleared in years, since the last entry on there was wrong since about 2008. I'll work on it as I get time. @Magioladitis: OK, I've finished a first pass, knocking off all the easy ones from the list. The good news is that there are fewer than 30 entries left. "Fix date"??

Hi. I noticed you made this change to 3 GB barrier. The page history shows that that edit removed one character. And I can clearly see, in the previous version, that the template throws an error on that parameter, and that after your edit that error is gone and the access date is properly displayed. So... thank you for fixing the error!

But I can't for the life of me see what the error was, or what you changed, and it's bugging me. :) The diff display shows no change that I can see, not even e.g. a removed trailing space (not that a trailing space would cause the error from the template). Browser text searches within the page find "|accessdate=2016-06-07" in both versions, and in both sides of the diff display. In fact the exact same text string appears in many other cite templates on the page. But only this one raised an error. I was about to compare HTML in the two versions and thought... why don't I just ask Floatjon? So, here I am. :) Jeh (talk) 14:46, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

There was some kind of weird, non-printing character following the date (added in the previous, otherwise good, edit). Showed up in my browser as a block with 4 digits in it. I removed it, and hey presto. --Floatjon (talk) 15:21, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Wow. That was a strange one - "In mid-October 2019, Laura Farber was confirmed as President of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association. She announced that the 107th Rose Bowl Game theme will be "Dream! Believe! Achieve!" The bowl game will be held on 1 January 2021 in AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX and returns to the Rose Bowl next year. Probably right for Sweden and Taiwan at least, which are not in the official lists. I've "cn"ed them in the band article, and corrected the count (adding 1 because PCC counts as 2). We'll see what happens with Japan, Panama, and Italy, but for now, we have to go with what Tournament is saying. Haven't seen a tentative parade lineup yet, and I don't have access to the press portal. On another note, our vandal seems to have been scared off for now at least, yay.
