Orphaned non-free image (Image:Konami DMV2 Magic Words Front.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Konami DMV2 Magic Words Front.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 03:28, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:DrumManiaV5 Rock to Infinity.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:DrumManiaV5 Rock to Infinity.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. e-AMUSEMENT & BEMANI

Yes, as much as I'd agree with you and want the same thing, Wikipedia needs a more standardized style of text formatting. See WP:MOSTM to get a definition, I've been called out for this before and I tend to agree. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 20:17, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Here, let me quote the relevant parts:

  • Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official":
    • avoid: REALTOR®, TIME, KISS
    • instead, use: Realtor, Time, Kiss

and

  • Trademarks beginning with a one-letter lowercase prefix pronounced as a separate letter do not need to be capitalized if the second letter is capitalized, but should otherwise follow normal capitalization rules:
    • avoid: EBay is where he bought his IPod.
    • instead, use: eBay is where he bought his iPod.

If you need further help with this, TJ Spyke is an expert on the subject, tell him that AeronPrometheus sent you. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 20:29, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BEMANI TOP RANKER決定戦 2008.png

Thanks for uploading Image:BEMANI TOP RANKER決定戦 2008.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:10, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:DrumManiaV5 Rock to Infinity.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:DrumManiaV5 Rock to Infinity.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ViperSnake151 17:47, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm in the middle of redoing Dance Dance Revolution (video game) right now. If you have any good web references for the first game in the series (From all releases) do let me know. I'm specifically looking for the "touring edition" song list, and a better picture of an original DDR machine (free license image). Contact me if you need any help.

So does this mean that the task force has been approved? I saw no indication on the proposals page. Also, which name were we going with, yours or mine? --AeronPrometheus (talk) 05:01, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Your page says you've been offline since the middle of February but you hit several talk pages about the supposed approval of the Taskforce, Houdini. :P
Is the Taskforce a go or not? I went ahead and moved the userbox I built to my Wikidomain. just put {{User:AeronPrometheus/KmvgTaskforce}} on your page if you want. I've also had a task list for a while, I've been bringing it up to-date. You can get to it here. I guess when the Taskforce page gets put together I'll move it over there. Talk to me, I'm not sure what's going on. Also, we've got a Jr. member; ViperSnake151. He's a real go-getter. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 01:48, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

List of GuitarFreaks & DrumMania songs

You created this article so I'm assuming you know more about it than the rest of Wikipedia. Could you split the list into List of GuitarFreaks songs and List of DrumMania songs? I would have to do extensive research to know which is which, thanks. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 23:16, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. -- TRTX T / C 18:21, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

See Also & Music game soundtracks

Though the different music games all have their own soundtrack articles...the see also is for more specific connections. (For example: Guitar Hero On Tour and Jam Sessions are both guitar games on the DS).

But there already is a category created for Music Game soundtracks. So there's a redundancy in listing the article as part of that category and then including it as a see also.

You'll note that even Guitar Hero games don't have see also's to one another since there's a common template being used to connect all of them into one easily navigated group. -- TRTX T / C 17:19, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:DJ Max Series

A tag has been placed on Template:DJ Max Series requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be an open or anonymizing proxy, such as a VPN service. To prevent abuse, these proxies may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

If you are using an open proxy or VPN service, you will need to disable it or turn it off in order to edit Wikipedia.

If you believe you are not using an anonymizing proxy, the most likely cause is that another customer using your IP address who was previously assigned this IP address was running an open proxy. You may appeal this block by adding the following text on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is _______. Place any further information here. ~~~~}}. You must fill in the blank with your IP address for this block to be investigated. Your IP address can be determined here. Alternatively, if you wish to keep your IP address private you can use the Unblock Ticket Request System.

Administrators: The IP block exemption user right should only be applied to allow users to edit using an open or anonymizing proxies in exceptional circumstances, and they should usually be directed to the functionaries team via email. If you intend to give the IPBE user right, a CheckUser needs to take a look at the account. This can be requested most easily at SPI Quick Checkuser Requests. Unblocking an IP or IP range with this template is highly discouraged without at least contacting the blocking administrator.

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:06, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
